Heckingbottom

Ill disciplined, generally unable or unwilling to change mid game

He does though.

and the captain telling fans they don’t understand the game.

Not wrong is he?

They’ve had tremendous support this season and he’s been backed financially. He has no excuses and neither do the players.

Well, has he been backed? Yeah we bought Lang, but Moran was just using the Mads money.

Where I’m very underwhelmed is I don’t think we put enough pressure on the opposition goal when behind. Whenever we’re away and in the lead, our goal gets bombarded. We didn’t make their GK make a save. 0.15xG second half.

Couldn't care less.

The bus is falling down the cliff - it doesn't matter who's sat in the driver's seat, it's still going in the fucking sea.

The manager isn't the problem.

You could go and get Pep in and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference.

We are devoid of creativity and quality and thats because the owners don't want to spend money, they are the biggest problem here.

No, he is a problem.

He's not the only problem.

I hate him, but Lowe served up this rubbish with a worse squad.

PH interviews are so awkward. There are no surprises apparently but the team looks like they're shocked when they're in the opposition final third and shocked when they're in our third.

Absolutely this. Every manager isn’t crap, well not until they come to us anyway.

Going nowhere. Job for life at this club providing you stay out of the relegation zone and keep the heat of the owners. But it’s impossible to make excuses for him, he cannot coach us out of a poor run.

I’d give it Mowbray to the end of the season to let him have a look at the squad and see whether he can get them playing. Never struggles to get players to like him either. Currently ours seem to hate playing football currently

A young and proactive manager is pointless with our hierarchy so going there isn’t gonna happen

That was shambolic.

AGAIN.

The drop off since January has been more incredible than the last few seasons.

The manager seems to have no idea how to fix it.

Supporting North End is soul destroying.

I can't see anything other than new ownership & investment changing anything.
January stuffed us JK. The messing about was shambolic, I recall PH saying since the summer what was needed and what happens, in January we sell 4, sit waiting on Armstrong the entire month and then panic buy 3.

It doesn't matter if we are bottom four or top four, the ownership will not enhance the budget that was set in the summer.

They need to conclude a sale before things get very toxic.

Spot on Joan, out of those 3, 45 minutes and 14 mins playing time for 2 of them.
Lip service for the support.

the real issue is letting PH chose next seasons targets and loans, he obviously has not got a clue how to inspire players, select teams, formulate a plan and another to change things and had it not been for our good/fortunate start to the season we would be in the bottom 4, he takes NO blame and trades on the fact that someone will sack him and he will receive a handsome termination package.

The worry is the manager predicted how they would set up and they were able to execute it perfectly.

What will do for PH is how bad the home performances have become again.

First half of the season there were some excellent wins against Leicester and Ipswich. Also nearly beat Boro and played brilliantly against Coventry with 10 men for over half the game.

Was a quick bounce back to any poor performance like that Friday night game against Plastics.

Getting trounced at home currently by teams at the top and bottom. The sole 2026 win against Pompey was also a real poor performance and smash and grab based on the play.

Something has been really off since the Wigan cup defeat. Whether PH threw a strop behind the scenes because he knew that early Armstrong wasn't coming back and likes of Lang and Moran were signed to appeased him but the vibe just feels off and the performances are matching that.

I wouldn't quite say job for life otherwise AN would likely still be here or at least up to 2023. PH is sadly going the same way as Neil without even reaching the relative heights he did.

While Lowe wasn't sacked he likely would've been sooner or later and in any case a manager just walking out after the first game of the season pretty much never happens so clearly there were issues behind the scenes.

I agree it is pointless appointing anyone young unless they are genuinely that desperate for a job as the club simply isn't structured from top to bottom to compete in top part of championship for a full season (it can sort of do it for 25 games).

A long term plan under a progressive modern coach can only work with new ownership, that is very clear now.
