Heckingbottom

Last winter he bought Gibson, I think our most expensive defender ever, then last summer had licence for a complete overhaul, this winter he’s broke our transfer record and brought in Moran.
I reckon that’s 5 x 1 million plus signings in 18 months, plus freedom to bring in multiple young Prem players on substantial wages.
So yes, backed like never before.
Who else had more freedom to overhaul the squad and spend like this? Moyes, Brown, Irvine, Ferguson, Neil, Grayson, Westley, Davies? You tell me.
The fact people class this as being ‘backed’ in this day and age. Yeh it is for us, but it’s still so far behind the other clubs in this league it’s laughable

Player rift....also bad mouthed Dobbin after taking him off recently....all is not well....time for PH to go but poor do all round tbh

I'd hardly say he bad mouthed him...

He called him out for reacting poorly to being substituted after specifically being asked a question on it - and I don't think his response was particularity out of line or harsh.

If player's aren't performing I'd rather he called them out rather than tip toe round them.

Exactly, it isn’t being seriously or adequately backed for what they allegedly want to achieve. It’s just another lazy and easy thing to throw abuse at, instead of properly addressing and going for the root cause - the owners.

Absolutely, I think he’s done as much as he can and he is another manager to add to the list.

We’ll keep going through the motions - sack the manager (eventually), buy the cheap season tickets, bring in players not good enough and extend those we should be moving on - and we’ll keep doing this until we are relegated.

This will eventually end up in relegation, it’s becoming part of our DNA every season. Fans need to start taking some responsibility if they want things to change, because our current owners sure as shit don’t care.

Gibson £1.5m
Offiah £1.2m
Moran £1m
Lang £2m (and a bit, no idea what the bit is, maybe 400k?).

Think those are the £1m+ signings he has made.

There can be pressure applied on social media and banners and vocal dissent on the terraces but the question is will anybody on the Isle of Man take any notice.
The trouble with not buying season tickets is that the budget will be cut even further and make us even less attractive to buy.
The football at Deepdale has on the whole been very poor since Covid.
No easy answers. Need a sale for sure.

Lowes signings:
Osmajic - £2m? (transfermarkt says €2.5m)
Frokjaer - £1.1m?
Thor - £800k?
Okkels - £2m??

Saying Hecky has been backed 'like never before' is wrong imo.

Don't forget each window Hecky has had to wheel and deal - Sold Theo Mawene, Layton-Stewart, Thor, Mads, Whatmough etc to fund his transfers too.

Not much by today’s standards and there is a big question mark over the wisdom of the Lang signing. Iversen and Offiah represents the best bit of business.

Have we only scored 2 goals since Christmas?!?
No 2 against Bristol City, 2 against Watford, 1 against Portsmouth, 1 against Swansea and 1 against Oxford. Scored 3 against Sheffield Wednesday on NYD and 1 against Wrexham in between Christmas and New Year.
Doesn’t alter the fact we’ve had a totally shit slump though.
PS - 1 against Ipswich as well.

Osmajic £2.15m.
Frokjaer £1.2m - £1.3m (can't remember which though I'm leaning towards the latter).
Thor £700k.
Okkels £1.7m although Ridsdale disputes this.

The same could be said for yourself. You pin everything at PH’s door and have done since he was appointed but had little to say between August and Jan when we were in the top six. He’s got a lot wrong no doubt about it and it’s a results business of course but to put all responsibility on him ignores the cards he’s dealt with and the fact we see this cycle every few years. The underlying problem is much bigger than PH.

oh ffs dry your eyes, PH nearly had us relegated last year with players that the odious Lowe managed to be well above the drop zone, he even signed some players, this year the results in the first few months were very welcome but the football was average, he has been allowed to bring in many players and NOT IMPROVED ANYONE, he NEVER takes responsibility and free loads on the likes of hand wringers like you.

I was just glancing down something someone had posted elsewhere.

I should probably not drink so much red wine at Sunday lunch!
The state of things at the moment I would say you should stick to the amount of red wine, have a couple of G+T before the meal then add in a glass of brandy and a couple of glasses of port at the end.

We have one win in 12-13? Including 9
Losses. He absolutely is to blame for the tail off.

We know where rh real issues lie but we can’t ignore this form.
I actually didn’t mind Hecky at the start. I wanted him sacked at the end of last season. 1 win in 15 was abysmal.

Last season angered me. The start of this season papered over the cracks. He isn’t a good manager. He deflects blame onto others. He doesn’t take any accountability. He’s a patronising twat and I don’t want him at this club.

The small signing was nothing to do with Paul’s contacts. He had a good game against us last season that’s it.
Hecky is 💯 absolutely to blame for all that’s wrong with this team-He hasn’t a scooby about tactics and style of play.Every team reflects its managers identity and so this team is clueless without tactics, nervous and twitchy and start every sentence with listen and then speak a lot of nonsense!

He was doing this when we were in the top 6 too but most didn't seem to mind then. But it's something that's now being used as an extra stick to beat him with.

Loads and loads of managers do this. It's nothing new and is just an annoying habit they've got. I remember ranting about it on Facebook and I've not posted on there for about 7 years.

We've got enough things to be seriously pissed off about without silly things like that. Don't do it to yourself 😅
