To be totally honest, I think that Hecky should be given a season under the new owners.
I get that. There's also the argument to give him time and fire quickly if it's going pear shaped. Worse than can happen is that he starts winning.
However, I hope there's more of a plan than endlessly 'appoint manager X and hope for the best' that's been the plan for decades now.
If the club wants to go down a route where the playing style changes drastically then they should send him packing. This is how he plays. This is how he played at his last club. I find any arguments to contrary straw clutching.
He's a back 5 merchant. If that's remaining the same it might be a simple choice.
I want the club to identify how they want us to be as a team and appoint managers based on that, over a long course of time.
Where is that Simon ??Ben Whiteman telling the fans that we need to be patient.
The irony here is killing me.
I haven’t heard that………

Whiteman really needs to wind his neck in & think before he speaks when he asks for patience. It does him no favour’s whatsoever.
We’ve been patient for a lot of years before he came & I’ve no doubt we’ll be patient for a lot of years after he goes.
Laughable comment.

I’ll be honest as much as the stats don’t back this up whatsoever as what he’s served up so far has been dire, I would like to see what Hecky would do with a decent owner to back him.
That said I can also see the argument for clearing the decks with a fresh start.
Yeah, I've mentioned it, the manager's got a promotion out of this division,” said Whiteman. “I think people are really critical these days, especially on social media. You look at Alex Neil who got chased out of here; he’s just finished third in the Championship, one point away from getting automatics. There's got to be a realism about the place, I think that's the biggest thing for me. If the manager gets the budget that he wants, I'm sure we'll be right up there but again, you've got to be patient and stick by him.”Where can I see the quote , 1881 ??

he would have to be as no other manager would pick him let alone give him the captaincy, he can fuck off with PH and the rest of the coaching team
Except for the previous 3 managers prior to PH.
Edit - saw @Doyler already covered that 😂
to nearly get us relegated, be a complete cunt one Gentry day and just keep us stuck mid to bottom of the league, he is utter shite.

Ben Whiteman talks about having realism about the place. Someone should remind him that our club’s biggest achievement for over 60 years is a play off win against the mighty Swindon.
I can think of no set of fans that have been more passive in response to over 6 decades of mostly shite.

Exactly....no protests or anything for around 40(?) yearsBen Whiteman talks about having realism about the place. Someone should remind him that our club’s biggest achievement for over 60 years is a play off win against the mighty Swindon.

The lad needs to give his head a shake and realise how lucky he is. Heckingbottom gives him an easy ride though, so no wonder he wants him to stay.
Steve Bruce won a Championship play-off final, give him the job. It means fuck all now.

Ben is not a leader and should not be captain. I can't think of anytime he's tried to motivate the other players or told them to up the tempo. He's a middle management yes man, that'll always tow the company line even when it's obviously wrong.
