I have heard from a friend who knows people that are high ups at PNE that we apparently are going for Nugent for £1m, Nicky Butt on a free and that we are after Owen Hargreaves on a season long loan to get him fully fit again for Fergie Snr. As we all know it could indeed be a load of tosh but im just putting this out there because it doesn't seem unfeasable.

IMO, apart from Nugent, the other two I dont feel will make any kind of significant impact.

in a nutshell Mr Daniels and hence the op's reference to having a friend is immediately thrown in to doubt. I find it remarkable somebody with this level of judgement would have a friend at all.
