I loved the flares

Great atmosphere and those flares made it look like games you see on tele in Italy. We should have them. PNE flag was also ace and it came out when the song wise men say was being played. Class.

So you think thats smart do you ! What a fooking stupid moron you are !
Its unbelievable you can even think like that .
Its a eurporean thing and something that should never be tolerated at any stadium at all.
Its dangerous and destructive so grow up and show a bit of sence yoe IDIOT !!

Some reet killjoys on this thread. 🙄

The flares added to the atmosphere.

Bravo!
Liked them personally but are illegal under the public order act,the first guy was arrested and will receive a banning order so i cant understand why the second guy did it 😕

Take from the Public Order Act 1986

2A. — (1) A person is guilty of an offence if he has an article or substance to which this section applies in his possession—
(a)at any time during the period of a designated sporting event when he is in any area of a designated sports ground from which the event may be directly viewed, or
(b)while entering or trying to enter a designated sports ground at any time during the period of a designated sporting event at the ground.
(2) It is a defence for the accused to prove that he had possession with lawful authority.
(3) This section applies to any article or substance whose main purpose is the emission of a flare for purposes of illuminating or signalling (as opposed to igniting or heating) or the emission of smoke or a visible gas; and in particular it applies to distress flares, fog signals, and pellets and capsules intended to be used as fumigators or for testing pipes, but not to matches, cigarette lighters or heaters.
(4) This section also applies to any article which is a firework.".

Out in Ukraine last October when England played in WCQ

The Russians had flares launchers and were launching them into the England fans section at Moscow,

I quite like them, adds a bit of punch but being sensible about it, they could have torched someones blanket to a frazzle in the STFS.

I know a couple of lads who tried to get a flare and flare gun on at Carlisle away in the early nineties.

They failed.

You need some serious help.

You dull muppet.

It`s a difficult one. Something like flares or terraces definitely add to the atmosphere, but having said that a tragedy could have occurred, especially if more and more fans, having seen those yesterday and the one Leicester fans brought to BR the other week, think it`s fair game and a free-for-all. It only takes one idiot beered up to get carried away and lob one and all hell could break loose.
One lad on our board last night complained that one of the flares was set off directly behind him and had ruined the back of his shirt from the heat and sparks. A nylon footie shirt and a flare are an accident waiting to happen to be honest.
I`ve got to say though the spontaneity and fun that was once evident on the grounds and surrounding areas in Britain has been gradually watered down and taken away to such an extent that we get the diluted product we see today, and it`s gradually killing the game.🙁
