I'd do exactly that. In the meantime @jakehake might be able to help?- after entering the card stuff, it flagged up a snag.
Would it be advisable to give it a minimum of another 24 hours before a second attempt?

Did you check whether it had gone through OK, despite the error message?- after entering the card stuff, it flagged up a snag.
Would it be advisable to give it a minimum of another 24 hours before a second attempt?
It worked and has been applied to your profile. JK checked- after entering the card stuff, it flagged up a snag.

FWIW, my brother in law is the same. It's a misconception that online banking is less safe, it's all done online anyway, the only difference is that with online banking you do that bit yourself, with conventional banking, the bank does it for you. Online banking is actually safer because you can see all transactions instantly, with branch banking you have to wait until your monthly statement arrives. Also, the flexibility and functional advantages you get with online banking are fantastic. Thanks for asking - but I don't do Internet Banking.

Cheers, L.i.S. - I take on board the arguement.
I make the (slightly) jokey observation after reading your post (#9) - that at least the bank does actually do summat for me!
And if they get summat wrong ( & I find their error ) - I might squeeze something out of them apart from an apology 😂.

Each to their own, but online banking is so convenient and, unless you do something really stupid, the bank will always be liable for errors.Cheers, L.i.S. - I take on board the arguement.

If its any help I find internet banking as good as when you only had cash. You spend and then check what is left and keep on top of finances so much easier. For example just today I moved my savings to an account that pays a much better interest rate for 2 years.Cheers, L.i.S. - I take on board the arguement.

I’ve done the same…. I had some money in Lloyds which was earning virtually no interest and hadn’t done for years, so I did a bit of shopping around and managed to find a bank offering 4.5% - it was a no brainer to move it and I will be able to keep my eye on it using the banks online facilities. If its any help I find internet banking as good as when you only had cash.
