International breaks

International breaks

They’re shit, unnecessary and need to be binned. This three-week one, only a few weeks into the season, is especially ridiculous.
I worry that players lose a bit of momentum and fitness, although to be honest I don’t think that will particularly affect us.
My biggest issue is that it just leaves a massive void at the weekend. I’ve got zero interest in watching England, and then all these missed league weekends have to be squeezed back in somewhere, usually with more midweek games.
So you end up with players potentially playing three games a week later in the season, which surely only increases the risk of injuries. I just don’t see the benefit of stopping the domestic season for this long.

I personally love watching England, they've currently got one of the best squads in world football. Last Saturday's game was v entertaining and we were unlucky to lose. This international break came at the right time for the club and some supporters imo. Its been good to have a rest, and also some weekends which arent spoiled by another defeat. I'm heading to Shawbride to watch my home patch side this afternoon, few beers with the Blackburn & Burnley mates and even an old Tangerine dreamer! Ill enjoy the game and then the 5pm ko to follow. COYW!

Yep look relegation candidates this season .
Without a doubt. Conceded 41 goals in 11 League and 3 cup matches. Currently need at least 3 to get a point. Last two league games against the bottom 2, Brig have lost both and conceded 9. In between, there have been two Cup matches and they’ve conceded 7. Massively out of their depth in this Division. Manager makes Heckingbottom look like a Champions Leage winner.

They're shit (England and international breaks), I'm off to watch Morecambe tomorrow. Oh Joey Garner, you are the love of my life etc.....
You couldn't make it up. I went primarily to check up on Joe. He took part in the pre match warm up, and was announced as in the starting eleven. A late withdrawal, injury I was told, although he looked ok. Ex PNE man Lewis Leigh was brought into the team instead. An easy 3-0 win against a poor Darlington side.
I was thinking of wandering up for that, but at 17 quid for an FA Cup game between two NL sides, I’ll give it a miss and go to Brig for a fiver
15 quid for me, sat in the stand. Lancaster City charge 13 quid.

I love international breaks, because they are announced so far ahead of time I book all my holidays away with the mrs during them.
I completely screwed up …. I was in Canada just before the international break and missed the
Bristol and Rovers matches and when the domestic football restarts next Saturday I am going to Santorini..
