Is Lowe evolving?

Is Lowe evolving?

Full disclosure, I’ve had a bottle and half of red and an awful lot of Glayva, but Ryan Lowe, I may have misjudged you. The start to this season has been unbelievable and I’m sure the bubble will burst sooner or later but for now you have us all believing and for that I thank you sincerely. Hate this bloody club more often than not but at this moment in time I’m back in love with my club.

Did well with the change yesterday. Defensive structure good, limited Stoke second half especially to shots from outside the 18 on the whole (except Woodman's save).

First goal was always going to be key. Big month and tests ahead.

Enjoy the moment and international break being top, but 41 more games to go. Let's not peak too soon

Maybe we needed freshing up. The new looking squad also appears to have rejuvenated Browne.

I'm not arguing that, just my point is that for those suddenly saying, that because Lowe has now been backed in ONE transfer window that the pressure is on is ridiculous. And frankly they're there just wanting him to fail as many have done so far.

We've still been out spent by most, the pressure and the battle is still the same.

One backed transfer window (for our standard) doesn't equal success. You could argue he inherited a lot of these players.

Just back the whites, and that includes Lowe.

I sense you're slowly jumping aboard HMS Lowe!

Nice one.

My whole point about DJ leaving as I've said time after time, the midfield was stale and from 2015 - 2023, not one Top 6 finish.

Something had to change despite the love for DJ. Mads and Duane ARE an improvement. That is no slight on DJ either.

Browne equally could have gone but he looks rejuvenated this season with fresh bodies around him.

I've not been a fan of Browne for the last 18 months as he has flattered to deceive, however, he has finally, at long last, stepped up. I'm back onside.

New Contract.

Maybe @FTF can overview what's changed/how we're approaching things. There were elements of us under Neil away yesterday imo, solid workmanlike performance and clinical when we get chances.

We have been clinical there's no doubt about that, with the 3 new signings linking up making a big impact.

Think away we're very well organised when defending that's pretty clear. Then our goals are to me anyway based on counter attack, we're rushing forward, opposition scrambling back, pretty direct play without being long ball. It's a massive improvement.

Winning games of football is the most important thing.

And if you're not winning them, not losing them is the next. Impressed by the bodies on the line approach yesterday (8/11 shots in the box were blocked) and Stoke's one shot on target was well saved by Woodman (we've said and will continue to say that a lot).

I thought we needed half time yesterday as they were the better side for most of the first half but we grew into the game. Stoke kept their two wingers high (looking to create a 2v1) and Wesley was a right handful at times but aside from a few moments where they could and probably should have tested us, it was a very well drilled defensive display first half.

Second half, of the three chances we created of note, we dispatched two of them. After that, they had plenty of the ball and play into the box but with little end product.

Definitely enjoy this moment, but we've still opportunity for improvement in areas. Big couple of home games once we come back from the break
