PNE do have a policy of not talking about transfers before they happen, which is fair enough. It does seem though, on the face of it, that there is little if no activity happening right now. We missed out on Williamson, did we really try? Now weve lost 2 midfielders in Whaley and Mckenna so from that fantastic day at Brum last season were 3 midfielders down and this in an area where there was a definite need to strengthen.

Yes there may be activity going on in the background but it looks, on the surface anyway, that nothing is happening. Are they witholding funds from this manager? I am now begining to wonder.

Yes weve done well over the seasons but i have a horrible gut feeling that unless something dramatic happens this season is going to go belly up major style.

No plan? I dont know.

Lets just say that this is true. There is no way that they will give him any funds whatever knowing that he wants away.

I can live without Whaley - esp if Mayor's the player he's being hyped as. I expect a few 20 minute cameos at home with the new subs ruling.

McKenna needs replacing and then some. A decent pre-season for the new season is also necessary. I dont want a situation like last year were we had to wait a month for Wallace and Elliot to be bleeded into a team.

did we actually bid for williamson? no one really knows what real or not. Dont forget that a few weeks before AI publicly stated he was waiting for Watford to contact us about selling him. Again, could be truth or could be utter bollocks we really dont know.

The facts are, we havent signed anyone and we've sold one key player in a position we are seriously short in.

If the club strategy is to leave us with a midfield that will take us down, then we are on the right track.


Theres some worrying signs coming out of the club at present. Whatever you believe about AIs reasons for staying, his head has been turned and that will make people question him. Hes making noises about being unhappy at having to sell McKenna and we dont seem to be too far along in replacing him (or signing the midfielder we already needed before McKenna left).
 
I don't think we'll turn any heads this summer but there is still 6 weeks before the window closes, we just need to be patient.

I really wish we'd look abroad a bit more for potential signings as the market can be so much cheaper which for a club like us is definately something to try and exploit.

I agree with everything you put Jaymo, Im not sure we even bid for Willo, I think if we got in their 1st early doors we could have had him signed before the blades offered him more!

We need one expereinced ballwinner in the middle - Williamson would of been perfect but we need to move on. There are plenty of options out there and I trust AI to bring in the right one.

Then in CM a young prospect would be ideal. I don't mind if he comes from a reserve team or Ruganda. We need 2 CM.
 
But the question, as intended, goes deeper than just whether AI has a plan but whether the club has a plan right now. Im sure AI does have his personal plans, whether they be good for the club remains to be seen, but i am concerned right now that the only plan is to get out of the deep financial mess that were in by getting rid of what assets we have. Long term this will destroy this club.
