What are we actually expecting from the summer window? If we’re in with a shout of top 6 on the last day do they try and build on it or do the same crap which we know is currently planned?

How do you build on all the loan players going back and key players like Johnson being OoC and out-of-budget?

We have to make a bunch of signings just to stay where we are, let alone build on it.

Yes, I would.

If there was a little bit of cosmetic work or advisories on the MOT that needed sorting that would get me a better selling price, then of course I would.

You wouldn't rock up a dealership or WBAC with a clapped out old banger, running on fumes, scratched up to fuck and demand full book price. Why would someone looking to buy a football club do the same? And then throw Ingol into the mix and you're basically obligating the dealership to buy your pushbike too.

Ingol is like asking someone to buy a flat bed trailer to go with their fiat 500.

Ginnelly ...no chance. not good enough by a long way.
nisbet, shankland and dykes ok in SPL, reasonable in champ but only outstanding at league 1.
more chance of finding a gem by looking at fringes of big 2

Ched Evans
Ryan Hardie
Tom Cannon (if we can get him back)

Are three of your front line next season
Ched - may never play again.
Cannon - will be 23/24 version of archer. Will we won't we. Oh we won't. (We tried)
Hardie - has he actually confirmed he will leave Plymouth at the end of the season? (If they go up he might sign a new deal)

You forgot riis. But considering he is out until probably September/October with his ACL we can probably not expect anything of him until November (ish)

with losing influential players such as DJ and the possible cashing in of either (or maybe both) of woodman/whiteman it would appear we are 5 good solid loans away from standing still, let alone progressing

Still will let this season pan out before worrying about pre season. We could be flush with premiership millions by then 😂

I mean , they do want too much for the club tbf

Hopefully the defence will largely stay as it is.

It has its critics but ultimately as a unit it's been very solid for 90% of the season. Lindsay, Hughes, Storey should all remain and hopefully Bambo can get a run of starts when one of those loses form.

Then it's a case of trying to replace Alvaro and actually signing that mythical RWB as then means Potts can go back into midfield and maybe chip in with some goals as he's done for other clubs.

Given he's become more influential at this level as season has gone on I expect someone to come in for Whiteman near the end of the summer window tbh. Maybe Leeds if they come down. In the current climate bids of 3m + and he's gone and would be a disaster to lose him, DJ and potentially Browne in the same summer as that's too much experience and quality to lose in one go and basically means Ledson is starting 40 times next season....

Ched is confident of playing again post the op, so a good source tells me. Also another good insider rather unhelpfully tells me that the owners haven’t communicated what the budget ie contribution is for next season

Well that’s one of three reasons two are more likely than the third.

1..They can’t be arsed.
2. There is no budget.
3. The club is in the process of being sold.

Having worked in trauma and orthopaedics for years I can assure you that any kind of surgery around the neck area is filled with risks, complications and uncertainties.

Ched may be confident of playing again but it might not be his call.

I really hope that he comes through it all alright. As the gods know we will need him

Whatever happened to 'Utility' players? As a kid, PNE would often sign a 'utility' player on loan, who could cover, say, left back, left mid and centre back or whatever. Nowadays these players are classed as square pegs in round holes. Or, if they're lucky, 'versatile'.

Steve Uzelac was the first utility player that I came across at North End as a 70s kid.

Question is, if you're DJ do you go and sign for another club or do you get a 2/3 year deal on reduced terms?

He knows the club, will be embedded in the area and the grass isn't always greener.
Could be wrong but I’m not sure there’s a deal of any kind on the table ?

Sure Ryan said the other day we’re not even looking at contracts yet .

Might be wrong but I always thought that players were free to discuss contracts with other clubs in the last 6 months of their deals. Maybe he already has something lined up elsewhere and that's why we aren't bothering to offer him anything.
