Thing is with Devine, they could sign him for £4.5m and sell him for more than that the next week if they wanted.

Devine for 4.5 million is a steal imo. I actually think he is better than Morgan rodgers was when he was at Middlesbrough and he went for 8 (I think.) if we go up he should be our first signing. Not sure we will sign him if we don’t.Castledine has gone for 2m off the back of 6 months at Lg 1 level so 4.5m for Devine off the back of 3 successful loans including 12 months at the top of the Championship is a steal.
George Earthy has done nothing worth shouting about in his career at this level
KKH is a defender and still commanded 3m so an attacking player will go for more than that comfortably
Roberts is 29 and as a winger reliant on pace and agility that will start abandoning him - not to mention he’s never got much in the way of goal contributions in the Championship. 1m given that Sunderland want rid doesn’t seem like that low.
All your examples just reinforce that there’s no chance Devine is worth less than or goes for less than his option is for.
However I dont think he will turn out as good as rodgers did.

Surprised at how strong that line up is to be honest. Goes to show how Hecky really does take the cup seriously, I would still have hoped some of our “2nd” players would have been good enough to beat Wigan. Jack Walton, Will Keane, etc.
But happy enough with that ambition shown, I won’t ever question Hecky 👍🏻👏🏻 is he perfect, No he’d be in the prem if he was.

If I recall correctly, his form and personal life took a total dive when his relationship with a high profile lady broke up.To be fair when we first signed him I thought he had bigger potential than nugent. The 06-07 season he was unplayable at the start. His career just seemed to nose dive after a few seasons. Reminds me of dele alli. Maybe he had off field issues who knows.
Sure she was an Hollyoaks cast member.

Hull in for Toby Collyer on loan.
That was my understanding.I thought in this case we have agreed a fee with Spurs (4.5m) but would still need to agree the personal terms with Alfie. I’m sure someone will correct if I’m wrong.

He was absolutely fucking amazing for a bit. Chilvers had this wide ball he would smash out for Whaley to chase onto and it got us so many points. Liked his crossing style too where he liked to go to the byline and smash it really low and hard. His fall from grace was quite incredible.
Wouldn't be happy with the Irish lad we're apparently signing. It's not what we need at this momentin time! Injured and won't be available till April. We need players to take us up, we can't afford to piss about. Other teams around us are starting to sign decent players to get them up!

It's a signing for the future, much like Shay Reid, it will have little to no bearing on our first team recruitment
sounds like Hecky has already been told, what we’ve been told in the past, money for players or pitc, can’t be both 🤣🤣🤣
The problem is, it may be (coming) but then that might be a choice for me: players or pitch. We can't (let it affect how we prepare/approach games). It is a factor. It suits some teams more than others, without a doubt.

'Cow field' - Paul Heckingbottom's gripe aired after PNE's loss to Wigan
The Lilywhites are out of the FA Cup
Hecky said:It's a cow field,” said Heckingbottom. “Let's not kid ourselves, it's disgusting, that's what it is, but we've got to play on it. We've recruited good footballers, we've got to play on it. We need a new pitch, we know that.

“But yeah, we can't because there's nothing we can do about it. I wouldn't have said a word if you boys hadn't asked me, because all we're doing is creating an excuse. So, please make this be the last time you write about it or say something about it. What can we do? It's here until next year.”
The PNE boss was then asked if he’s been given any indication of when the pitch ought to improve, and if the cold weather has been its downfall.
“No, it's just rubbish,” said Heckingbottom. “It's the only pitch in the league that's not got any synthetic in it. It's got no undersoil heating, no synthetic in it - they always cut up. It's just a fact. That's why every club's got the other pitch, whether it's stitched or whether it's lined all the way through.
“When the grass grows in the summer, the roots bed into the plastic and then I'm not bothered if it looks like this - it's brown and there's no grass on it. It's flatter, it plays properly. That's the difference.”
That the manager has to speak about this in the public domain - questions that only arise because of it's disgusting Sunday League Parks Level - tells you that the owners care not one single jot.
If I was Moysie, I wouldn't risk an injury to Harrison on that tip of a pitch either.

I can't believe nobody mentioned this in the Summer... 🙄
Nearly everyone on here - I was certainly vocal - mentioned / moaned / pointed out the state of the pitch last season.I can't believe nobody mentioned this in the Summer... 🙄

Yeah.
Sell the club.
This summers spend shows that you're not interested.
Disgrace if no striker is brought in now.
Literally only spent the Desso pitch and undersoil heating money.
How Lowe's PNE transfer kitty will be boosted by £1.5m this summer
Preston North End will be spending money both on and off the pitch this summer
He "literally" didn't say that:
PR: “Well, what I don't want to go out there publicly and say: ‘There's loads of money to spend’, so all I do is put the price up. My position is that I get told by Craig and the family trust how much cash I can manage the business with in each year. That number is that number; it doesn't vary. What I have to do then is make that number work. So, to the degree we make bids, there's all sorts of issues around that.“How much is the bid? What are the payment terms? Because in this day and age, you don't pay all up front. And the mere...
After tonight and yet another failed effort to take an opportunity we need to try and move Mads on.
Lindsay also is a liability.
We all know Keane needs to go, time for Peter to do some dealings and help the manager bring in some additional quality.

Agree, the manager has already tonight publicly said that he’s concerned about about having to miss out on a player, because the money has to go on a new pitch, which he knows he will have to make that decision at some point. So please back the manager with some new signings. After tonight and yet another failed effort to take an opportunity we need to try and move Mads on.

I hoped and thought Mads would kick on in a better performing side. And tonight was a massive opportunity, with Dobbin and Jebbison ahead of him, to really impress against a lower league side. After tonight and yet another failed effort to take an opportunity we need to try and move Mads on.

But he had a shocker and just looked very slow on the ball. He wasn't alone. But that was possibly one of his final chances to show he deserves to stay here for me.
I'd happily sell him this month now.

Hannover side still reporting the fee only around 400k
If we’ve sold him for only £400K that is borderline incompetence. Yes, he’s not a first choice player but he’s an international player and I actually think he is a good squad player to have. I’d rather keep him until the end of the season and have the cover.
