You go back a decade and it was a good policy picking up young players from prem academies. Robbo and DJ on fringes of Villa first team (although DJ went to Chesterfield first of course but he could've been signed for even less than 50k), Pearson from Man. United with a season at Barnsley under his belt.

Brownhill came here when he was 16-17 I think?

Moyes also did this in late 90s/early 2000s. Trouble now is the likes of Dobbin and Jebbison cost 10m to sign permanently so not realistic.

The other more recent strategy which was of more moderate success signing anything that could move from the league of Ireland. Maguire made an impact before his injury and Horgan did o.k at times without ever being more than a squad player but likes of O'Connor and Boyle were nowhere near championship standard. Boyle was 26 when he signed and was back playing at Dundalk two years later so it was more of a cheap way to pad out the squad.

It will be interesting to see which way Grezza goes. I don't think he'll be able to pull off loan signings like Jebbison as that was someone PH had at Sheffield United so there was still a pull there as Jebbo could've easily just stayed warming Bournemouth's bench as he's doing this season.

I suspect he'll look more at players he knows from league one. Kabia at Orient is interesting one. Mid 20s but two really good seasons at Truro and Grimsby and started very well in London with 4 in first 7 games so he could be a reasonably late developer that eventually does well in the championship.

He does have alopecia. Looks like the hair transplant might have fixed the issue for him (assuming that’s what he’s had done), just depends on what type of alopecia you have.

Although you may have a point about the teeth. 2 for 1 offer?
