1st Wednesday (h). 3-0
4th Brizzle C (a) 0-2
9th FA Cup Wigan (h)
17th Derby (h)
20th Hull (h)
24th Boro (a)
31st Ipswich (a)

It would be very helpful if Hull v Ipswich gets rearranged for the 27th. That’s got to be a possibility, though perhaps the following week might be more likely.
Also, I note that in the midweek before we have the early kick off at Boro, we’ve a home game v Hull on the Tuesday while Boro travel to Stoke on the Wednesday… the extra recovery time should be a small but worthwhile advantage for us.

Anyway, a pivotal, daunting month - especially travelling to Bristol, Ipswich and Boro… but we’ve started well!

If we win on Friday (or Watford win at Bristol City) our game at home to Watford on 14th Feb will need to be rearranged to a midweek. Might not be a bad thing, always fancy us more under the lights and it’s a long journey for them in midweek.
I said it after the away fixture in November, but I fancy Watford to make the play offs. Think they were only mid table after that game, too.

I had them as my top 6 bet in my pre season bets (Chesterfield being shit likely not getting top 3 is gonna cost me though)

Good team, just needed a manager to get it right.

I don’t think there are any ‘nailed on’ top 6 teams (at present) other than: Cov, Ipswich and Middlesbrough. If general form across the top 10 continues, then those remaining 3 playoff positions are there for anyone. I’m sure at some point, gaps will start to form (dip/upturn in form or injuries etc), but as it stands, the playoffs are wide open.

I’d be looking at:

Derby = Win, at home and maintaining current form, we should have more than enough.

Hull = Win, I think we will just edge this one, but will be close.

Middlesbrough = Draw, at their place and where I see us most likely dropping points out of these fixtures, does depend how their next few games go though.

Ipswich = Lose, flying at the minute and at their place. If their form continues, then I think they just have that extra quality that will be too much for us.

If the performance against Bristol becomes consistent and we can continue with, then there’s no reason for us to fear anything.

We’re over halfway through now, and we’re not here by fluke. They need to believe that they can beat anyone, and without being arrogant, they should now be believing that they should be able to beat most teams if they really want promotion - you have to have some arrogance to take that step.

If we are able to make any additions, it’s only going to enhance those chances.
