Just back and for the first time in a long while I can say I walked out of the ground as a proud Preston fan! if you wasnt at the game you wouldnt have seen the celebrations with the players andd managers who where delighted hugging play fighting and I seen more passion from grezza and unsy when they came over to fans than any manager for a long while.

Early days but my view is give it them both till end of season!

I am so glad you got to take the long journey home in a much happier atmosphere than the last few months. Its nice to hear about the passion from the players and management so thanks for that.

They're both PNE through and through. IMO it needs to be one or the other at the helm but, for me, to have a true PNE fan in charge and being successful would be a dream come true.

born in Preston and a nobber most of my life - i have to say i dont have the same dreams as you. \i want a manager who is intelligent and hardworking. Dont give a toss if they come over and clap and clench fists with the fans. Load of sentimental hokum if you ask me.

Sorry I think the rapport the manager has with the fans is very important not as you put it "sentimental hokum".

Just incase you didn't know it was live on sky sports to the nation.

Let's not get carried away with it. This is a tough division to get out of. Ask the likes of Sheffield weds, Charlton , Leeds, Man city, Southampton.

The important word in my post was "successful," we all want a successful manager but if he had PNE blood that would make it really special.

Football is all about sentimental hokum, you wouldn't be a fan without it!

I did know lol im on about the celebrations when the players came over to the fans

You made that perfectly clear, and he knew it !

I really think coming over and clapping and clenching fists with fans is ESSENTIAL. I hate it when players walk a cursory 10 paces over the half way line and clap the fans, hands above heads so that they can be seen in the distance!

These fans pay their wages, and have forked out a fortune to travel and support... and win, lose or draw, the footballers should have the common decency to thank the supporters properly.

Of course, you need an intelligent/hardworking manager... but this aspect is simple, and if they do it, they garner more POSITIVE support... which does make a difference.

You obviously weren't at Hartlepool then. However, I totally agree with your last point.

Just shows what a cock brown really was, we would not of beaten mk dons in a million years with big ego brown, I know its early days but we went to probably one of the best teams at home in league one battled and beat them that's some achievement. It just shows that simply playing players in there correct position and having passion we could be one of the best teams in league one.

Fair play to all the travelling supporters, you came across well on the TV and could be heard throughout the match.

Well done for going, enjoy the moment.

Can't believe people being negative when we win live on the tv!

The negativity is because we were under constant pressure after Mellor went off. Mellor was looking superb - a great pass to Coutts who hit the post. He gained possession twice by out-muscling their centre half who couldn't cope with him. It would have been a totally different performance if Mellor had stayed on.

A great defensive performance though. Only 5 conceded in the last 9 matches!
