LB Slot V Carlisle

I'd rather we played a natural left footed left back there than a right back out of position. I don't think the full back roles are as interchangeable as is sometimes made out.

If we can't or won't play Billington or James then unfortunately Paul Parry would need to move back there temporarily and Keammar Daley could take his place on the left wing. Would only be for one match but Parry's our best bet if we want to retain any sense of balance down the flanks.

I wonder what Kemar Daley has done to convince you of this. He is a luxury player who is no good off the ball and has a poor workrate. At the moment we need hard work and spirit. Mayor is our luxury player really. For me it would be Conor McClaughlin at left back to cause as little disruption as possible. If Mells cant play then Proctor if fit and Tsoumou if not. Rule 1 - Basically everybody from tonight's starting line up should play again in the same position if they can. Rule 2 - Replace any who cannot with the best of the rest in that position and dont go moving people about a la Brown.

I play connor at LB for one game cos he has played there before & keep parry on the left wing.

I thought Phil was mad for never playing Daley, looks like they don't like him too much. I noticed today he travelled but not on the squad. He brings the flair we need with Hume and mellor

I don't think I've ever seen a player with a worse 1st touch pull on a pne shirt than Tsoumou, you kinda wonder if he has ever played pro football before

I would counter that by simply asking how you could possibly say with any certainty that Daley is no good off the ball and has a poor workrate? I haven't seen him much (though when I have he's looked very exciting and not at all short on aggression) but nor has anyone else. I've no idea how you could be so certain about him.

In truth, though, my point was more about trying to maintain balance in the team. As that involves playing Parry (as our only left footer) at left back then I think it's important to stick with a natural winger in front of him.

Conor has struggled badly enough in his natural position this year and so I'd be loathe to stick him at left back.
