I’m sorry if this has been done, but the roof is not knackered, it needs some TLC on the complicated joints.
When the roof was done it was designed so that the plastic man proof sheets hugged up to the metal frames that are the roof support. These would be sealed with a system called Kemperol. This a good system if done correctl. Unfortunately it wasn’t.

it’s a system of liquid added to a primer and put of a bandage system that sticks and seals for about 25 years. Google it if you are bored.

I spent 3 months on the roof fixing what a few useless lads had laid. That was 21+ years ago and some of the suspect joints have now weathered and gone past their sell by date.
The sheets are fine, it just needs someone to come in and fix the leaking joints. There is no point for disturbance on the joints that are ok. But you only find the leaky joints when it’s raining.

I no longer roof for a living, so Sorry to have bored the crap out of you.

Perhaps you should come out of retirement roofer!!!!

Was your work not guaranteed for 25 years then????
It wasn’t my work.
The original company had some sub contract roofers working for them and they did the work. I worked on the outside vertical fins, back high level wall and changing room area.
When the stand opened, quite a few of the joints leaked if you remember, but the subbys had took their money and run.
The company I worked for asked me to fix any leaky joint, but as I could only find them in rain it was difficul.
The roof has been fine since I finished, but other joints were suspect have finally weathered and given in.
Im sure in the way technology has moved, it wouldn’t cost the earth for a ‘pour on, quick drying system‘ to be used to sort it.

Thanks for the insider knowledge

My seat was a disgrace on Saturday - went as a family of 5 but had to move me & my son

Roofer - is the water dirty/mouldy/rusty up there - I'm wonderong if there is a helath issue should it drip onto my healthy burger?

It won’t do you any harm, it’ll just add a bit more salad to your burger

You're more likely to get damaged by the burger.... Well done for managing to get one too. 😀

Can any ( ovs needed rite now, I know ) repairs be done now, anyways ?
Disregarding the gales we've had today & lots of rain, - wouldn't it be impossible to mend these leaky sites - until they are something approaching being 'Bone Dry' ?

Thoughts, Roofer (roofer32) ?
