A tough game last night with Swansea. I'm not going to make any comment on the game, it's all been said on the matchday thread. My gripe - why in earth did so many leave the game early? With 5 minutes to go and a decent add-on time to come, PNE are under the cosh. Leading 2-1 but the game could still go either way. And yet, people were streaming out of the ground, including the bedrock of support on the AKTE. What's wrong with you all? This is the time when the team needs you and you're leaving. In droves. Shame on you.

I always wonder what it has to do with other people how someone chooses to spend their time. Some leave early, some arrive late, some go to the bar or toilet during a game, some sing, some don’t. As long as you’re not harming others, so what?
Maybe it's personal... but i never wanted to miss a minute.... and agree it is also about commitment to the team. Times have changed. Losing teams supporters' used to stay at Wembley until both teams had visited supporters. And now we're not allowed to condemn others for not being like we think they should be. Whether top or bottom they're our boys so we need to support them through a match start to finish. Last night support was quiet for a team in 4th place. We still seem conditioned to expect failure sooner or later!

To be honest, I often leave a couple of minutes before the end for reasons I’m not going into - but rest assured I’ve got a good reason! I didn’t last night incidentally 😄

How strange.
I had the same conversation last night.
Fella near me always leaves with about 5 minutes to go, so with added time misses 10/15 of the game.
But he also sits in the middle of a row so at a crucial point in the match he distracts everyone on that row who have to stand up and the people for several rows behind because they are all stood up blocking the view…

Can’t understand it.

I find it hard to understand too, but some must have valid reasons (early shifts etc...)because I'm retired, it makes little difference to me but it can be 10-15 minutes getting out, if you stay to clap the team. The guy in the middle of the row should show more respect to his fellow supporters...choose a lull in the game...not usually hard to find near 90 minutes, with time-wasting etc

People leave early for different reasons it could be simply to avoid the traffic or work or family commitments. I don’t care one way or the other the money has already been paid into the club so it’s their prerogative how long they stay. The one gets me is the “win lose or draw Preston is my team”. I find that completely Lilly livered and passionless. If you are not bothered about winning why attend. I keep saying this but, I don’t expect to win every game but I expect to try to win every game anything else is futile.

£ 10 a ticket probably won't be on again this season unless we get a top prem team in fa cup draw?

I must admit I thought the same….

I sit in the Town End and with the clock showing 86 minutes I thought “ how could you leave now when the game is on a knife edge “

I didn’t see you last night Joan, were you on ??

Might even just be for mobility reasons too. Fella in front of me struggles to get up and down without his family. Probably a bit easier for them if they leave early when it's less congested and to give the man time to get down the Town End

This debate has been done to death over the years and to those like myself and people I sit with it's completely unfathomable but as earlier posters have said there will be innumerable reasons why people have to/want to leave early.I do disagree with a previous poster that it doesn't do any harm...the number of people who walk down the row whist the game is in full flow pisses me off no end. There used to be a bit of protocol where people would wait till a break in play.but now it's just get up and expect people to move...noticed this creeping in at cricket as well where people don't wait till the end of the over to go for a beer/piss etc. Maybe I'm just getting old

As soon as added time board is up, I set a timer exactly 1 minute before the full time whistle.. by the time I've walked down from the top of the AKTE, I'm at the bottom of the stand and the ref usually blows for FT not long after... And I'm out to beat the traffic instead of being stuck in the ground for 10 mins after the match!
