We could have a "Shaky's gonna get you" button for those whose grammar and spelling leave a bit to be desired. It would stop people getting so aggrovated when correcting or, for being corrected. It could be called as above or "think c... alert" or "prospective ETC nominee".
ha ha, I like it.

I don't think we need it. There are so many polarising opinions that it would probably even out, except for a certain few posters who would end up with a lot of dislikes.

It's also a very lazy thing to implement, as people would find it much easier to click like/dislike than to properly consider the point in question and give a reasoned response.

+1

And this isn't lazy rather than adding something to a thread?

Sometimes you can like a post but not want to get caught up in a load of abuse...but I completely understand why some people wouldn't want it because of it being like facebook, though it's nothing like facebook really is it...as someone has already mentioned other footie forums have it. Why someone would not want it because it would be like facebook but they've actually got facebook accounts confuses me though 🙂

I'm not really bothered eitherway, was just a suggestion because I found I liked a few posts when I read through a few threads the other day but didn't want to bring the thread back to the top with just a +1 ...I'll probably just do that in future. 🙂

It works both ways. Somebody who wouldn't have interacted normally, might click the 'like' button. But by the same token, somebody who before would have positively contributed to the thread, could be reduced to clicking the 'like' button which would be detrimental to discussion on the forum.

For me, the second case outweighs the first case and so the 'like' button shouldn't be implemented.
