Loan Watch 2026/27

Loan Watch 2026/27

Looks like he played for Chorley as Trialist A against Man City u 21's on Friday.

Will have to have a stroll down to Victory Park to watch him play when I can.

Chorley's forever keeper joined the staff at Rovers in the summer and their goalkeeper coach has gone too.

Hopefully he smashes it there.
Good spot. Chorley certainly hyping him up which is good to see.

Chorley won 4-2 on Friday but from the Man City players named on the Chorley twitter it looks like it was more of an under 18s side that City put out - still a good confidence booster ahead of the season for Chorley though.

Snowball also started at the weekend for FC United away at Macclesfield. Limited updates from FC United so don't know how many minutes he got but Snowball's now technically known to two National North clubs when we try and get him his next move up the pyramid.

Highlights of Stowell's official game for Chorley. Shows him commanding his area and distributing the ball upfield quickly, which shows promise, however, IMO he should have done better for both goals.

First one arguably saw it late but reactions need to be quicker. Second one, he looks to get caught in no mans land. Expects a shot at his near post but it goes across him. Defenders at sixes and sevens as well so leaves an easy tap in so plenty to work on if he wants to remain number one for a decent run of games.

Limited updates from FC United yesterday but Snowball played 72 minutes and it was 2-0 when he went off.

Found this ground hopping video. Match action starts on 6:00 minutes and shows Snowball getting muscled off the ball straight away - Fisher flops aren't much of a thing in the Northern Premier - and he looks out of position to me for the second, albeit it doesn't show why he was pushing up and his replacement for the 3rd goal is seemingly playing just as high so might have been team tactics. Another one though where he'll need to improve if he wants to keep his place in the starting line up as clubs in non-league don't mess around and will just sign another player.

Very harsh regarding the 2nd goal, looks like he gets a good hand to the initial shot and it unfortunately just hits the shins of the lad in the middle. First one isn’t great but it’s an unbelievable strike, must have moved in the air if there wasn’t a deflection.

First one looks like it got a deflection so makes it harder to save. Camera angle not the best for the second but I don't think he got anything on it and if he did he pushed it across the goal rather than away. Of course, Stowell is at Chorley to develop and learn but it won't be long before people start with the "is Stowell ready for the Championship yet". If he's ever to get to that level he's got to stop goals like those on a regular basis, deflections or no deflections.

Exactly how I see both goals too. Think the angle of the sun was a factor in the first one as well.

Stowell is just the latest PNE GK to be a victim of not being Daniel Iversen, where no goal is ever his fault, and any goal ever conceded in the history of football by another keeper "Dan would have saved it"

Would it be worth seeing if Alan Kelly Jr would be interested in a part time coaching position?
Pickford seems to have dropped off without AK and I am sure he would be fantastic for the youngsters with all the knowledge he could pass on.
And yes I know he had a knee problem, that's why I said part time coaching role

Ooof, tough night for Stowell at Bamber Bridge. Lost 6-1 at home to newly promoted Avro. Not seen any of the goals so no idea if he could’ve done better on any or had no chance. I’m sure a couple on here went to the game.

Thankfully, Stowell is at Chorley...

Think Snowball got 90mins for FC United in a 1-1 draw (limited info from them though)

78 minutes for Snowball - was 0-1 when he went off and FC United equalised in the 94th minute.

Fulwood Amateurs main keeper, Jacob Barry, didn't play last night so might be an opportunity for Milne or Swift to get a bit of work experience.

I suspect you meant Josh Muir, if he played, in defence?

Brig are in big trouble this season. Signed virtually nothing but academy lads who haven’t played in men’s football and in the 2 league games so far they all looked lost. The experienced players left at Brig don’t look particularly interested and I’ll be amazed if Milligan is still in charge by about November

Yeah, I was told by someone who knows their non league that they are nailed on to finish a cut adrift bottom. A big shame.

Granted, that performance on Tuesday against Avro was reminiscent of the Blyth Spartans team who got walloped at Brig a couple of seasons ago - Blyth's biggest issue was they weren't signing players who were step 3 standard - which has been the Brig issue so far this summer but things could change for the better.

League clubs will be more willing to loan out players in the next few weeks so that might help quality, if not experience, wise.

Michael Ayodele is one Brig might be interested in, from what I've seen of him he'd offer more of a presence than James Butterworth who's currently on loan from the lashers, but it's a lot to ask for a 2nd year scholar to learn his trade and improve a struggling team straight away.

Of our U21s, Max Wilson is probably the only one with the quality that Brig will need but him going on loan there will be a step down for him. Pasiak and Kamara could do a job but I'm not sure if they've got the right attitude to deal with what is currently a sinking ship and they'd probably rather kick their heels in the U21s as they wind their contracts down.
