Lonergan to wba

Lonergan to wba

As long as Fergie has a decent replacement lined up to come in immediately after Lonners has gone, i don't mind.

He is going, it will be completed next week, once he is back from Spain.

I believe he will not be in the starting XI come 1st game of season. A big loss? Not for me..

Good shot stopper but a very good goalkeeper organises his defense better... (something I believe Lonergan has STILL not learnt to do)

As for shots from distance? I can't remember a North End keeper in the last 35 years who has been beaten by shots from distance as much as Lonergan
🙁

Don't forget all the headers conceded from inside the six-yard box.

Anyone playing against West Brom reserves could be in for a field day next season!!

I hadn't to be honest but the die hards would have said that those goals weren't his fault and should be cleared by other players 😱

IMO anything £800k plus is a result...

In fact would take £400k and Ishmail Miller on loan for 6 months.....

Enough said, it's one of the fan club. 🙄

Lonergan replacing Carson? I don't think so.

Usual pre-season bullshit, Lonergan is going to a prem club, season starts, still here, same shit (whichever way you look at it), different season.

Get that £5 ready for me. 😀

It is West Brom

How much for? Fergie got a replacement lined up?

Remember the PM i sent you both t'other day? 😉

From what i've been told, WBA made an offer, Chairman Mo rejected it but said add a bit more on plus these extra clauses and we'll see how we go.

WBA went away, came back and said "Ok, we agree".

All with be revealed over the weekend i'd expect. I saw a text message only on Tuesday gone from Andy saying how the squad were enjoying the training etc in Spain. There is another text which i'll only be shown once the deal is done. Must be a serious matter then.

For the record, Lonners does not, like Wallace didn't, want to leave as he is settled up here (family especially Millie), this is all the work of Chairman Mo and his drive to bring the wage bill down (ehich i agree with).

Chairman Mo has come in with no sentiment to any player, his brief is to do his job as ruthlessly and efficiently as possible on the orders of TH. As much as i rate Lonners and SSL, i agree with the stance being shown.

SSL WILL be next. 😉

Yup, remember that one. Another feather in your cap it would seem.

Name a few

In the 2008-09 season, when AL was getting the same stick as he does now from you and Shaky, in the region of 19 Championship teams conceded more goals in the six yard box than PNE.

Will be interesting to see how both get on in higher leagues.... Although not sure scottish premier is that much of a better standard...😛

I concur JD, he is about to move into a new property out our way soon, been converting a old barn, will be a very nice house. I would imagine they will stay based up here.

This move will offer will give Jen and Andy the chance to give there daughter the best support possible, and I think with the fee we are getting, it is a good deal for all sides.

I too agree with the job ML is doing, it is something that he has had very little choice in completing. "Take the medicine" was the term I re-call.

I wish Lonners all the best, the same will go to SSL.

The New Era will has begun, lets move on!

FGS look at it over the last 4 seasons.....😱 If it wasn't a flaw in his game he would have been snapped up 3 seasons ago....

FGS the premiership is crying out for good english goalkeepers....

FFS Green went to the world cup and STATS say he made more blunders than any other keeper in the prem last year....😱

This seems all very plausible & I have no reason to doubt what you have said.

The fact is though, it will be for Lonergan to agree to the move. Assuming he is on very good wages here and close to his new family home, I would expect a move further away, in addition to the fact he is unlikely to be 1st choice, to be significant factors in his thought process.

He is under a long term contract & currently our number 1 which personally is not going to change unless DF brings someone else in. For me, why move ?

St Ledger is on a similar wage to what Wallace was on, and Lonergan currently on. If we can't afford to keep them, I'm guessing we can't afford to keep St Ledger either 🙁.

We have a new wage ceiling and all those above it, good players or bad players, are to be "moved on" or at least tried to be moved on.

Its for the long term good of the club, irrespective of their abilities on the pitch.

Team Rebuilding will be this seasons buzzwords on here.
