Mental Health

Fuck me mate, I've just been on phone to my cousin for an hour and a half, i feel absolutely stupid, people have died, got cancer.. Etc etc... This is just ridiculous but unless you experience it you have no idea how dibilitating it is... I fully get how people can see no way out but to harm themselves. I'm not that bad but I fully get it. Thanks for all the pm messages and support. I don't mind being honest if it helps one person. I'm not too proud to tell people i am having a bad time and have sought help. Cheers everyone.

Don’t ever apologise. You are doing what is right for you in your situation. No one should criticise if that’s what you need right now

Have you tried a special lamp? Like this?
SAD Lamp,Aogled 10000 Lux Natural Daylight LED Light Box with Timer Function,Touch Control,Sunlight Energy Lamp with 5 Adjustable Brightness 3000K-6500K,Daylight Lamp for Home/Office/Apartment
That’s an iPad case?

As blunt as it is, to avoid rain you need to leave Lancashire. 4/5 highly recommended
Jake.. Cheers... My intention was to retire to Spain etc... Never happened... You could do a thesis on why my nerves are shredded at the mo... But today i have reached out to my family and told them I'm not in a good place and i wish I'd done it ages ago instead of suffering in silence. Amazingly i have had messages on here from relative strangers that have been massively helpful.
Cheers to you and everyone 😊

That sounds progress, you’ve seen your Achilles heel and dealt with it and people have rallied. This is the start, not the end. We’re all here for you

Without wishing to sound trite, as per the post on the main forum today that we’ve made at the suggestion of another member. This is exactly why this Subforum is here. Don’t ever suffer in silence whether you want to be known or unknown. There’s a bunch of people with something as a common ground but also a wealth of experiences that People want to make sure others don’t experience alone

As cheesy as it sounds, the gentry aren’t going to let people fall if they are asked to help

Well done beagle.

Not directly relevant, but I imagine that 90% of people's mood are down on where they'd normally be. Me for sure. I would put myself (rightly or wrongly) in the top 10 or 20% when it comes to being 'happy-go-lucky'. Luckily, I wouldn't I've reached 'struggling' but without doubt I'm touchier. And more likely to waste time rather than do things. It's been a rubbish year for almost all of us.

Just started reading self help stuff, the charity mind has some good things. Breathing techniques and just imagine you are elsewhere or listen to music...
Clearly not the complete answer but helpful non the less.

If it makes a difference for you then it's all good. There is no "one size fits all solution" we are very complex beings

Never ever feel guilty for feeling down, you say you start meds in the autumn and then stop around March, maybe it could be an idea to continue them throughout the year? If you are struggling with sleep, the breathing and imagining you are somewhere else can be great, I use that when struggling to sleep, I imagine I am on a Cornish cliff top just looking out to sea, just the sound of the birds and the sea. Like you I struggle with dull days. Make the most of the sunny ones. Good luck👍

Cheers... My happy place is sat on some rocks in corfu town looking over the blue water.... Love it there. Very serene.
Happy memories of Cornwall as a child, Newquay and Tolgas tin mine and pasties... Simple holidays.. Recall being about 8 and me and my dad crawled to a cliff edge peering over the side to the rocks below.... Bloody stupid idea but thats how things were!
Thanks pal
