IAN Holloway has urged Preston to look at Micky Mellon in the search for their new manager.
North End are without a manager after Phil Brown left by mutual consent earlier in the week.
And Blackpool manager Holloway, who is a close friend of Mellon, has backed his Fleetwood Town counterpart for the Deepdale hotseat.
Holloway said: “If I was Preston and I was looking for a new manager, I’d look no further than Micky Mellon.
“He’s going to be a top manager one day, if he isn’t already.”
“We’ve bounced a few ideas off each other over the last couple of years. He came to see me a few times and I’ve never met anyone as enthusiastic about football.
“He was maybe even more enthusiastic than me. I couldn’t shut him up and he couldn’t shut me up.
“We became friends throughout that first season I was here.
“We might have fallen out a little bit last season, but when I needed some support the other week he was there for me.
“Until I came here I always just saw him as a Bristol City man and I was Rovers, so we never really spoke.
“But I’m glad we do now – he’s a top man
Left by mutual consent? does that mean both parties accepted his resignation or that both parties accepted that his contract was terminated by the employer?
