Sadly, it's never.
OP
I like this.
I don’t think he'd be interested in a 80% pay cut.
OP
Doesn’t need the money.
An emotional return home to the streets of Deepdale Fishwick and Callon is what he needs.
It all fits and makes sense.
Even for the seagull draggers that's delusional.
OP
Well. It is a Bank Holiday on the Sunny Lancashire Riviera after all. The crack must be of decent purity.
He 'ain't going to come back and fuck up his legacy.
Maybe new owners and investment into the squad would make him interested.
He could become an even bigger PNE legend by taking them down the League2
What legacy huh?
The man's been shafted numerous times in the Premiership, at Man Utd, twice with West ham. He flopped at R Sociadad, Sunderland.
I doubt he has the time, patience, and work ethic to work under PR.
And dealing with thugs like Ledson & co!

This guy probably gets paid twenty times what we can offer him, has managed in top divisions exclusively since leaving us in 2002 (La Liga and PL) and has won a European trophy.
But sure, he'll want to come work on shoestring budget, an enormous salary cut and going from Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and James Ward-Prowse to Ryan Ledson and Layton Stewart.
Just get this notion out of your heads sooner rather than later.

It’s pretty delusional for Nobbers too, especially with the number that genuinely believe it’s possible
It wouldn’t do his CV much good though, he knows how we are run and wouldn’t touch us with a barge pole.

Well technically he's about to take a 100% pay cut at the end of the season 😉
