Jealous Trolls.I was reading some of the comments on Facebook which weren't that complimentary about their product ..
Confirmed New sponsorship & Home kit Launch (Spud Bros)

A large percentage of general Facebook users these days are angry boomers. The comments sections on pretty much any post I ever read is like the cesspit of society. Fuck knows how it ended up like that.
I agree, it has the potential to be a fabulous platform for sharing tips and advice on a whole range of subjects but as you say, it has been taken over by very opinionated people , some of whom, are always looking for an argument.Think that's part of the problem.

'Enshittification'. It's also built into their algorithms.
Social media is inherently about keeping people engaged so that the companies can harvest more data to sell and/or get more as revenue. The easiest way to keep people engaged is by making them angry, hence you'll see more aggressive content. There's other ways of course of keeping people engaged, but rage is an easy one to tap into.
Hence this:
It has been taken over by very opinionated people , some of whom, are always looking for an argument.

It's sad to see as there are many good people out there, Ando.I agree, it has the potential to be a fabulous platform for sharing tips and advice on a whole range of subjects but as you say, it has been taken over by very opinionated people , some of whom, are always looking for an argument.
The wild irony is that many of these gobshites online wouldn't say boo to a goose in real life. Social media has given them a false sense of security and at the same time, constantly feeds them things to "get angry about". A sad, fake world.
You're quite polite in calling them opinionated, Ando. I have other descriptions for them which aren't printable.

Indeed, importantly too it's giving them a sense of validation. All the 'likes' etc. It can be quite addictive, so people continue to seek that out by being more and more outlandish.
True. I can see how it becomes a vicious circle in some quarters. Other 'like minded' individuals on these platforms see the number of 'likes' a person gets by being outlandish... they then seek their own number by acting the same way or worse. A vicious loop.Indeed, importantly too it's giving them a sense of validation. All the 'likes' etc. It can be quite addictive, so people continue to seek that out by being more and more outlandish.
Something which I have never forgot. I saw a post from a former FB engineer a good few years ago where he said he regretted creating the 'like' button due to the problems it had created around the world.
Those words are profound, when you think about just how true that statement is. It applies to all platforms with that feature.
That one button has caused and is still causing, problems for many around the world. Not for everybody, of course, but it is an issue online.
If I’m still going , I will be 80 !!!!If you wait another 15 years for your next one, how old will you be?
It's even worse now that people have the ability to post anonymously or under a fake name.Think that's part of the problem.

They seem to enjoy spreading their wave of negativity.
Our local one focuses on missing cats.Don't think Facebook is their core medium, far more followers on Instagram and moreso TikTok, Which is where the cool kids hangout apparently.
Facebook is for complaining about badly parked cars and promoting craft fairs nowadays
To Be Fair I queued longer for Wembley Tickets in 1994 and I wasn't served until 8.20pm as I was no where near the front. The fella at the front in the light jacket had been there since the evening before to be first in the queue. They weren't even opening first thing in the morning it was like 3:30pm.
That's some serious level attention seeking. Worlds gone mad.
I ended up driving to Lancaster for my Wycombe ticketsTo Be Fair I queued longer for Wembley Tickets in 1994 and I wasn't served until 8.20pm as I was no where near the front.

You couldn’t get a Wembley ticket from out of your own oven though.
That’s where we got ours from 👍🏻They used to sell tickets for big matches at Malcolm Woodhouse's haulage yard reception.
We left at about 1730, having been there from 7am / 8am to play a pre-booked game of footy at West View.
Arrived back about 2015 and eventually got my Wembley 94 tickets at about 2300!!
