The list of potential managers really fails to inspire me. We must at whatever cost get Billy back to the club, the most successful football we have ever seen was under the wee man.

Weather you love him or hate him he is the man that will take the club forward.

Interesting to see how far up the table Irvine is. 9th of all managers who've managed at Deepdale for more than 8 games. Vindication I think there for all those who backed him.

So what? Simmo is 7th and he almost relegated us... Sackings are judged on form in that particular season. Both Irvine and Simmo had good previous seasons but the club was in threat of going down when their tenure ended so that's why they were sacked. Consistency is key in football.

Dickov eh?

Oldham 09 Jun, 2010 to Present P76 W25 D24 L27

Hmmm. I don't know much about his time at Oldham, but he win percentage isn't too much of an improvement on Brown.

I neither love or hate Billy Davies. However, I was bored stiff watching his brand of football, as were people I took on to watch. Draw specialist. Generally negative.

bored stiff? woukd much rather be in the upper echelons watching players sweat blood for the cause than the lily-livered fare we have watched for the last 2 1/2 years

Is this some kind of sick joke? I can't believe I've read a few comments on here over the last few days with people not wanting Davies because the football was apparently boring. What's boring about winning and getting into the play offs for a place in the Premier league? He is the best manager we have had for a long time and is carry him from Scotland to get him back but it won't happen.

Billy Davies is not the answer. He wanted to spend more than we had when he was here. If he did well then he'd soon be off to a bigger club. We need someone from lower down the league who's hungry, will work hard and stick with us. I'd give John Coeman from Stanley a ring. He's done marvelously on a shoestring, used the loan market fantastically well and plays good football. He really knows his football and is a winner.

He is someone who I'd seriously consider over both Flitcroft and Mellon if we went down that road. Far better option. They guy loves the game as well, you only have to listen to his interviews on RL after games when Stanley have not performed. He is distraught!
