I was looking to post something similar, today I watched Lincoln warming up playing the same lay offs and they were crisp, accurate and mostly ended in the net, then I turned to watch North End playing the same drill and with an appalling percentage off target. If that's how they train, it's no wonder we are are seeing the same crap in matches. It's not just this guy, I was watching the shooting drills before kick off, it was so half arsed, Euell is supposed to be laying the ball off for a shot but half of the time the players are having to retrieve it first. There's no intensity in the pre-match, it's no wonder they can't hit a cows arse.
4 games in and they've tossed it off.

I didn’t see it today but I watched against Wolves and it was exactly the same…embarrassing.I was looking to post something similar, today I watched Lincoln warming up playing the same lay offs and they were crisp, accurate and mostly ended in the net, then I turned to watch North End playing the same drill and with an appalling percentage off target. He's been part of the set up for 4 years maybe? Not heard anyone say anything he positively contributes. He needs to go.Peter Murphy obviously is a bit shit, but I’m looking at Offiah (absolutely bullied) and Iversen (positioning?) first.
It’s like blaming the manager at the time for Graham Alexander’s OG, when Tepi missed the ball completely. Our abhorrent box defending this season is why it’s all the more baffling, as many of us warned, that we didn’t sign a CB this summer.

Did anyone see him missing Devine frantically trying to find out what he needed to do?

I don't disagree, but also I don't think we generally hear much about any coach in that regard?
Good coaches become managers, contribute positively to a club, or move to a better job or a manager they love working with.I don't disagree, but also I don't think we generally hear much about any coach in that regard?
People like Peter Murphy do none of the above. Part of the low levels our club need to get rid of.

Over the last four years, Preston North End have scored their 51 non-penalty set-piece goals from approximately 980 to 1,020 total non-penalty set pieces taken (combining corners and direct/indirect free-kicks) across all competitions.
This gives them an overall conversion efficiency of roughly 5.1% (or about 1 goal scored for every 20 set pieces delivered into the box).

Honestly, if you asked me to guess what percentage of set pieces lead to goals - like generally in football, my starting point would be: Definitely less than 10% and probably not less than 5%.
My guess is that we are worse than average but without some reference points, I don't think we can be certain

Looks pretty bad on paper though.
I believe the average amount of set piece goals sits around 20-25% of all goals, someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though 🤷♂️Honestly, if you asked me to guess what percentage of set pieces lead to goals - like generally in football, my starting point would be: Definitely less than 10% and probably not less than 5%.

The question would be what percentage of set pieces end up as goals.
I think for corners it is about 5%, so that would seem about average?
But I welcome anyone finding the actual stats!
Yes I saw this. From corners and long throws Devine was frantically waving to the bench asking what players are meant to be doing. It’s proper embarrassing, clearly shows there’s not a proper plan in place for who’s marking who. Adds to how unorganised we look defensively so it’s little surpriseDid anyone see him missing Devine frantically trying to find out what he needed to do?

I’d include Euell the attacking coach to go as well no improvements up front either and he’s taking the pre match lackadaisical shoot in
I think it’s way too early in the season to look at such stats but the stats do say they’ve scored two and so have we.Talking about set pieces Lincoln scored their first in 30 games yesterday.

Sorry I listened to the interview wrong. Against Blackburn it was the first time in 30 games they hadn’t scored from a set piece. So they are pretty decent at them not shit like I implied. Apologies. 🤦I think it’s way too early in the season to look at such stats but the stats do say they’ve scored two and so have we.
Our defending from set pieces and defending in general is awful so how much is that down to what they are told to do by the manager and coaches and trained to do.Peter Murphy obviously is a bit shit, but I’m looking at Offiah (absolutely bullied) and Iversen (positioning?) first.
