Peterbrough chairmans midnight statement!

Peterbrough chairmans midnight statement!

we didn't pry him from anyone. That's the difference. Fry has been trying to say all the time he's been tapped up by a bigger club. then he comes to us. Was fry saying we're a big club now?

there is bad blood between Darren and Fry, most posh fans have been saying it since the summer and it looks like they've been proved right.

What's the point of bringing the Wednesday fan up. Are we on a Posh message board gloating?

I think they should get Big Ron in to sort them out !😀

Every week brings another drama and it usually involves an ex-manager, a current team member and the promise of bigger wages followed by a derisory £100k bid and all this after the player has been unsettled and offered terms behind our back.

Fergie, you cheeky fucker! Did we offer this for McLean do you reckon? Piss funny if we did. The stuff he says later on obviously suggests we have been tapping up their players who we want, well I don't give a shit if we are! If we sign them and they are up for playing their arses off for Fergie (rather than the club) then get the fuckers on the wage bill.

Welbeck to twat a few goals in tomorrow night and Fergie to give Fry and company a big middle finger! Fuck Peterborough!

I've always wondered what kind of people read something and automatically believe it to be gospel. I'm sure the majority of Posh fans will understand that this statement has an ulterior motive, but, quite frankly, the above quotes are quite embarrassing. Although, in fairness, we would see them on this forum too if similar events occurred at Deepdale.

Not for one minute am i suggesting DF has acted 100% correctly in this whole affair, few of us would be naive enough to think that he hasn't done something to upset the Peterborough board, but, initially as a neutral, i deemed that Ferguson handled the parting of ways quite amicably.

I know it is extremely early on in his reign, but we could witness a big indication as to how much DF has about him tomorrow evening. Going to London Road and picking up all three points despite the hurrah surrounding the game would be very professional of DF, his staff and the players and is something i expect them to accomplish if we are serious about making progress in this league.

Just hope this winding up exercise does not result in a serious injury to one of our players. I would assume this bloke could be considered to be bringing the game into disrepute for his comments and if not true could face legal action as well.

Fair point, actually. My bad.

Maybe the comparison was a bit of a bad one, but I'm just comparing the attitudes, not the actions. How would we feel if Fergie left us at the bottom of the Championship with an unorganised team and a pissed off fanbase, and then went on to negotiate with our players without consulting the board, ie farcically. "Do unto others..."

Just showing a bit of sympathy for the Posh fans, is all.

I'm sure the little darlings will be fine on the pitch.

I'd also expect a very professional put down on the PNE site tomorrow. Taking the moral high ground etc etc. Going to be a good day on the forums tomorrow.

Wish Irvine would.

All i've read from this is that DF feels he's been unfairly treated by their chairman and has been as spiteful as possible since his departure and now he's our manager he's using the shit storm that's been left behind to improve our squad.

Harsh on their fans but could benefit us big time if we get some of their players on the cheap.

Tell you what, if i was a professional footballer I'd love to be playing in a game like this one. Injuries are part and parcel of the game, I've broken my leg in a totally innocuous challenge in training, whereas Wes Brown escaped with a grazed leg when Tevez went in waist-high on him in the Mancland derby last week for example. (BTW, I'm not taking sides on the 'Tevez shoulda been sent off' debate)

The sad thing now is that I very much doubt we will sign any Peterborough players now. Would have loved to have seen us sign McLean. Don't know much about Paul Coutts however i'm sure DF knows all he needs to know about him to know he would be a good signing.

Not sure about that mate, think it could have the opposite effect and we may be more likely to sign who we are after now. The chairman has just ripped them to pieces in his statement, they are going to want out more than ever now and will no doubt be desperate to jump ship.

WDD+D 😀

Like we've suddenly got a fixture similar to leeds. Fans all baying for blood. bet the atmosphere is electric. Just what we need at deepdale.

Perhaps this is Shaws idea. Get a manager who everyone thinks is a cunt, get the fans behind him and become a fortress of noise and abuse at deepdale....

...I can but dream.

I hope you are right. Degsy would go up in my estimation if I found out he had made a £100k bid for McLean haha. More likely Coutts though.

Fuck Peterborough and fuck morals. North End have been too "nicey nicey" in the past and too happy to roll over and get fucked over because we have the wrong mindset. You have to look after number one and if a few people in Cambridgeshire don't like it, so what? This statement plays into our hands and should get our fans right behind DF at the match and has done more to unsettle the Posh players than it will do ours. COME ON YOU WHITES!

So what's our new chant

"Cunt for a manager, We've got a cunt for a manager"
To what tune?

Seriously though, why are we all believing this guy as talking absolute truth?! It's all him managing the press to his advantage. To be fair, I think he knows that certain players will engineer themselves moves to join Fergie and he isn't too happy about it, he's put himself in some real bother with this statement. Not least with the FA for blatant abuse to refs etc, only Fergie Snr gets away with calling refs shite!

Posh fan said:
And for any of those who still think Fergie deserves an applause tomorrow, do remember, we did just as much for Fergie's career as he has done for our club.

There is no way he'd be at a club anywhere near the size of Preston North End without us having taken a chance on him. We gave him a shot, we gave him resources, we gave him two careers which his CV will forever look impressive.

Now, i wouldn't mind if he'd left and treated us with respect, and if he wanted some of his old players, gone about the whole thing properly, but the fact he's gone behind the club, and the fans backs, to suit himself and his new club, shows he no longer holds respect for the man and the club who gave him his shot.

Why does he deserve respect in return?

Nail on the head imo.

Whatever fits.

I wish I could be there tomorrow (today). Sounds like it will be a cracking match. I'm certainly not taking the comments seriously, it's like a pantomime. Brilliant stuff. 😀

Timing of this to avoid the Nationals, so only the Locals can feed on it. He's made some serious alligations and if he ain't got evidence to back it up, then he's in shit. Also, he done this to boost his ego. Knowing that fans would read the first bit, and back him, so his little offer to step down at the end would be ignored. He's another cunt that won't stand down if the fans asked, because he will use this to claim his has the fans blessing. Bassically he's skint and living on Borrowed time and doing all he can to hang on. I look forward to Fergie's responce, I am sure with SAF as Dad he will have a very good legal team.

As for the Signing of their Players, it will happen if it was going to, he needs the money, maybe this is to push the price a little higher.
