On Thursday afternoon I attended the funeral of Phil Brewer at St Nicholas Heyhouses Church at Sabden. Phil might not have been known to everyone at Deepdale but for those who travel away particularly on Coach 1, Phil was an ever present who never hardly missed a game. He was a really great guy to speak to and we have had many a laugh at some far places on cold Winter`s evening`s about that labour of love that following North End is for us all. The beautiful Church was packed to overflowing and Peter Ridsdale attended on behalf of the club. 68 is no age to pass away and my thoughts and prayers are with Chris (Phil`s son) and the family. RIP Phil, you are with the Gentry now.
