Josh Murphey? If bowler can’t get in our side he definitely can’t.

What? He's miles better. The polar opposite of Bowler in terms of style and would actually fit into this high press side rather than being a lumbering, unfit trick merchant who loses the ball high up the pitch.

Bowler was a typical messy Ridsdale signing. It felt like Trev had come back to haunt us with that one.

You're comparing arguably League one's best player last season with one who never played for Cov and was pretty much hated at Cardiff.

oh right you were being serious? Fucking hell. First you were hell bent on bringing Alex Neil back now you want us to bring josh Murphy back (who if I remember when he last played for us had a terrible attitude.)

And if I remember rightly Murphy was a typical messy ridsdale signjng at the time as we played with no wingers. Just as bowler is.

I’ve come back from the preston match and this is the first thing I see. Can’t be assed discussing it with you any more. Josh fucking Murphy. Jesus Christ. League one’s best player. Whippe!

I think I've been suggesting that for a while, Love. 😉 Night night.

I think we'll stay up with room to spare but only after seeing the improvement under Heckingbottom.

The home form will comfortably keep the team up, could easily win another 10 games at home given the current record under PH (playing some decent teams).

Away form is the issue though. You don't get close to the play offs being turned over at likes of Oxford, Millwall and Swansea. Burnley was better so potential to turn into hard to beat I hope.

It will be a similar position to last season I reckon. However that season finished with run of 5 defeats and majority wanting the manager gone there and then. Will be a different feeling in May I think.

Swansea was under the old regime or at least its brief continuation after RL left and frankly just has to be written off. Oxford initially showed improvement but once they equalised the uncertainty and lack of cohesion that the previous regime had created manifested itself - since then, though, that has changed and the team is now playing with spirit and resilience. Millwall was the one really bad result under the new regime that can be attributed to poor decision-making by PH - a formation that omitted Kesler-Hayden and so deprived our defence of any real pace and that left two strikers totally stranded upfront because we were almost totally reliant on Bowler, a lightweight winger, and Holmes, a hardworking but ultimately uncreative player, for invention and chance creation.

Though we played much better last night there was a pale echo of that Millwall selection in the starting formation. Holmes apart from his goal generally ran around to little effect - I know I keep saying this but though his energy can make him a useful sub option he just is not much more - while Brady apart from the pass that sent Riis through for the penalty was in truth not all that effective and wasted just about all the corners he took. Greenwood worked hard but didn't really drive at the opposition in the way he can. I cannot understand the rationale for not starting Frokjaer especially against opponents who are likely to be challenging at the top end of the table. In addition Whiteman again was fairly anonymous.

PH was also slow to change things when it became obvious the opposition were dominating possession. Frokjaer, Thordarson and Ledson should all have been brought on for Holmes, Brady and Whiteman no later than the 60-minute mark possibly earlier and probably Okkels should have replaced Greenwood at some point as well. But we got a point without playing particularly well that we would all probably have settled for before the match given that our opponents had recent Premiership experience. Now let's see if we can up our act away from our place starting this Saturday.

Holmes played well first half was helping KKH double up on Sainz and had an impact on the game…whiteman made some decent passes yesterday can’t remember if it was his pass tgat fed Holmes..but second half Holmes was knackered and agree should defo have been replaced earlier…Brady was also knackered towards the end..I was just frustrated with his corners yesterday..we need to be more effective at set pieces and more importantly we seem to concede goals from our own set pieces cos we dont get back quick enough.

Greenwood played Holmes in for his goal.

Whiteman played the pass to Brady just before the first goal, a good first time pass with pace. However, that was about the limit of his contribution.

I genuinely think, barring any major injuries and with a couple of astsute signings in Jan, Hecklefish and McCall can get us in the playoffs - I believe he will get a 'tune' out of these lads and coach good habits and improve their game. I think McCall has a huge influence and this will only grow.
What I have seen yesterday and agaisnt Watford gives me a lot of hope - something I seldom had with that scouse tosser - even on our good run at the start of last season under him, we should of lost to Plymouth etc but I'm seeing something much better under Hecky.
Lets hope I'm right and we have a little joy that has been sadly lacking for many years.

I don’t.

The hierarchy dosen't deserve a serious play off challenge for it's disgraceful transfer policy.

Nothing will ever change in the division for this club regardless of who the head coach is until there's a change of direction at the top. Or new ownership actually backing the manager to sign decent players in actual positions needed.

It's sad the gaping holes in the squad are just running jokes every transfer window on here and even worse many are just accepting very average players will be given contract extensions as it's the done thing.

There is finally an opportunity next summer to totally refresh 3/4 of the squad so please take it as the form over the last 12 months has been bottom 8 so not like these players are much good at this level as a collective.

This season is all about staying up.

Although it would be good to be even competitive to stay up in the Prem (if promotion was achieved) - we all know it wouldn’t be possible without overhauling the entire squad. Would be insanity to try, use the money to massively improve the squad to be comfortable top 6 Championship (Sheff U/Burnley), then look to build on that. (Although we couldn’t trust PR with that responsibility).
