Confirmed PNE Sign - Milos Lukovic (Loan)

Someone at the Club needs holding to account for the signing.

Embarrassing.

Has he ever been asked about in the pre match press conference as to why he’s not involved? I’ve never heard him mentioned.
I heard PH being asked if and when Lukovic would be involved and his response was “it’s up to him to show us he can be involved”. I guess he never did. To be fair on the 30 minute showing that he was involved I can see why PH thought that.

It’s even dafter when you look at our own club statement when he signed

"I can't wait for this journey to start. I'm sure we will do amazing things together.

“I'm ready to give my all to the team. I want to score goals and help Preston achieve something special.”

And Hecky said

"He's someone we've seen a lot of, he was really keen to come and embrace that challenge of the Championship and face something different.

"We're really keen and determined to make the most of the four months he is here."

Well done, lads.

In all fairness, the lad captained his childhood club at 18, scoring 30 goals for em along the way. I hope he goes on to have a decent career but judging from this spell and his last at Las Palmas he might have some maturing to do
Hard to judge from his performance here, really.

It looked like Hecky threw him on in the Osmajic pressing role, he ran around chasing his own tail a bit and then Hecky decided he wasn't good enough. Didn't give him enough time to really show anything.

You'd think if he was here for that role and that role only they would have scouted to see how he performed in that role?

Even without hindsight, this looked a bad move.

I said on page 1 of this thread that without an option to buy, this was an odd signing as he's not ready for The Championship.

I'm not going to say I told you so. But I told you so!

My first thoughts of him were from him wearing black gloves with a short sleeve, obviously with him coming here in January from Gran Canaria. He tried pressing and then also playing back to goal in possession. Went down a few times from light pressure and looked a bit confused that the ref wasn't giving him any change. I thought fair play, welcome to England, hopefully he'll toughen up a bit but alas we never saw him again.

I don’t think his 45 minutes was that bad at all. Granted he didn’t pull any trees up but we’ve had similar performances from Jebbo and Smith over the season.

His movement for the goal was good, opened up space and kept the defenders busy. Like you say, tried playing back to goal but didn’t get much out of the ref when handled physically.

Must have been way, way off it in training to not get a single minutes after that.

I reckon £6k per week, so circa £120k plus things like flights hotels, legal fees, insurance etc etc.
£150K is where i'd put it- that's £3.3K per minute.

When he signed, I was quite impressed that he had captained his side at 18y/o to a second division title. I just saw this graphic and a comment saying it's commonplace for Serbian sides to captain youth prospects to inflate their transfer price/increase interest. Clearly Strasbourg fell for it.

The old Brazil trick of handing out international caps like confetti.

Tbf, I think it was more the fact that he scored a bag full of goals.

Doesn’t seem to apply with Smith though Joan

I feel sorry for the lad, it can't have been easy coming to a foreign Country and being shunted to one side.
You would think that he was imparted on the management team rather than them actively signing him and encouraging and helping to adapt and integrate.
It rather seems like he was left to flounder!
(Flookburgh term there).

I guess he will think twice now going away to play abroad!

We'd have been better off just signing some highly rated teenager from non-league or Ireland on an 18-month deal and seeing how he faired. We've basically just loaned an U21 development player for six months and sent him back.

Just sums up this current ownership, no planning, let's just see what's available when the time comes.
