Matchday Thread PNE V Birmingham City | 21.10.25 | KO:7:45PM | Championship

Not sure how many they are bringing but there’s none in town to speak of, Railway was dead on the walk from the station and Teller’s is dead too! I thought they were a massive club selling out away ends!😳

Think we should be winning this. Manager is under pressure, they’re poor away and defensively questionable. Just need to get the gameplan right
We should, and we need 3 points to get us back on track.

It's great to be thinking in those terms though, total contrast to last season.

As above, yes we should be winning this and I'm hoping for a reaction to the West Brom Game.... players going out to prove we are not up there by accident. Don't let the weather put you off attending...rain will have cleared and it will be a good night for football under the floodlights at Deepdale.
Well that aged well

Read 3000 on Twitter which isn’t bad given it’s a wet Tuesday night on tele

Would you support this team line-up?

1 – Gaslighting - The last line of defense against truth, denies reality, twists facts, makes the victim question their own memory and sanity.

2 – Isolation Tactics – Cutting Off Friends "They’re a bad influence. You don’t need them."
3 – Monitoring & Surveillance - Tracking phone, social media, location.
4– Financial Control - Restricting access to money, sabotaging employment.
5 – Jealousy & Possessiveness - Accusing victim of cheating, controlling clothing and interactions.

6– Love Bombing - Overwhelming with affection early on to gain trust and control.
7– Blame Shifting - "You made me do this." Never takes responsibility.
8– Threats & Intimidation - Uses fear to maintain dominance.
9– Minimizing Abuse - "It wasn’t that bad." "You’re too sensitive."

10– Physical Violence - Hits, pushes, restrains — the most visible form.
11– Sexual Coercion - Pressuring or forcing sexual acts, disregards consent.

Manager – Entitlement - Believes they have the right to control, punish, or own their partner.

Team Captain – Charm in Public, Cruelty in Private - Appears kind and generous to outsiders, but abusive behind closed doors.
Goalkeeper – Gaslighting
Defenders – Isolation Tactics
Midfielders – Manipulation & Control
Forwards – Direct Harm

I suspect the answer is no, but for many attending games tonight, its what they'll be facing everyday. Domestic abuse rises around football, not just loses, draws and wins to. That last pint down the pub. Its not OK. Its not easy to spot, but if you suspect, shout about it, if your a Victim Sing loud about it, if your the purpritrator then get out.

There is help out there for Victims
For urgent help with domestic abuse, call 999 in an emergency. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is available 24/7 on 0808 2000 247 for free, confidential support and advice. Other specific helplines include the Men's Advice Line (0808 8010 327) and Galop for LGBTQ+ individuals (0800 999 5428).

It's far from a must win tonight but on the back of the defeat against West Brom, three points tonight will make the game against Sheffield Utd (who will improve) less squeaky bum time.
If we're still in and around top six after the next two games, I'll be well happy.

Every game is a potential must win, it’s just that we don’t know it yet.

Someone posted that on here last season, I can’t remember who, and they were right.

Well that team is certainly something

Don’t think we could’ve done anymore defensive if we tried. Why not go defensive against WBA if so many players were tight for fitness instead of parking the bus at home against a poorer team

Bit of a strange selection.

Offiah clearly isn't a wing back & feel like McCann, Whiteman and Armstrong in midfield might not really work. We'll see.

Brexit ball, no creativity, wet Tuesday night. Gonna be a grim watch this

Also if that doesn’t prove Heckingbottom hates Frokjaer nothing else will

Saw the picture and thought Offiah starting instead of Storey.

Then saw Storey so thought maybe going how we ended last game.

Then saw Hughes and Vukcevic. I imagine Vukcevic is going to be playing the more advanced wing-back role then with this lineup.

Armstrong gonna have to be playing a bit higher than he has too.

Is this team selection one that PH, like he's done previously from time to time got massively wrong.
No creativity what so ever, not sure the role of Smith, because without crosses into the box, for him to get on the end of,so far his hold up play etc has been limited.
Let's home PH has got this one 100% spot on.

This is the same midfield that played against Charlton.

I wouldn’t exactly say it’s ‘parking the bus.’
Armstrong and whiteman aren’t defensive players.
