Yes the manager is just a cog in the machine. As usual, the answer to all the problems is to can the manager. Like players, they don't go from being the dogs bits to total crap overnight. Hecky was being lauded by many as a saviour in November only to become vilified by Easter. Maybe there are other factors at play here, maybe the time and investment needed to build a promotion side are simply insufficient, maybe the demand for instant success is not managing expectations, maybe the budget doesn't match expectations, maybe its the expectations that need binning. It is also possible that losing 2 of the top players around the turn of the year (Iverson and Armstrong) can have an adverse effect on a financially constrained club. Whatever the reasons constantly potting the manager in the hope that a new man will be able to work a miracle with the same resources is verging on lunacy.
If the new owner gets in place and is able to make substantial investment in both the club infrastructure and the staff then the current manager deserves the opportunity to build a competitive squad.

Why did their goalie go down during our corner, I couldn’t see any of our players near him from where I was sat yet they were given a free kick? Thanks👍Definitely quite a bit of Premier League entitlement about them.
The "You're so northern, you eat off the floor" was particularly cringey.
Really good side and should win the play offs, doesn't mean they will.
Seeing their camara save keeper make a complete tit of himself for our goal was a highlight.
Really enjoyed the win at Southampton, shame we totally collapsed in January.
When I read some comments on their forum they were accusing Lindsay of assaulting him.Why did their goalie go down during our corner, I couldn’t see any of our players near him from where I was sat yet they were given a free kick? Thanks👍
I didn’t see they happen from my seat in the Finney.
So they they could regroup and get some tactical advice from the manager. Why did their goalie go down during our corner, I couldn’t see any of our players near him from where I was sat yet they were given a free kick? Thanks👍

Lindsay did a big running jump to try head the ball then ended up flying into him. When I read some comments on their forum they were accusing Lindsay of assaulting him.

That has really got to stop …..So they they could regroup and get some tactical advice from the manager.
It’s happening in lots of games now.
The rules need to change which say that if a keeper goes down, the players are
not allowed to go over to the coaching staff….
The other noticeable thing yesterday was that players were going down at the slightest hint of contact and usually got a free kick. Happens every game but that referee gave more than most would have done which is saying something. That has really got to stop …..

Southampton made 3 substitutions while Peretz was pissing about getting a drink and still wasn’t ready to take the goal kick, in fact he then gave it to a teammate to take. The ref did nothing of course, yet we get yellow cards if we take 20 seconds over a restart. Why did their goalie go down during our corner, I couldn’t see any of our players near him from where I was sat yet they were given a free kick? Thanks👍

Sadly that's the way football has gone. Football is my sport followed by Rugby Union, and it's just embarrassing when you compare the contact in each of those two sports. Footballers have become prima donna wimps. Gone are the days of Tommy Smith, Ron Harris etc. And please don't tell me the tackles they made were wrong. It's meant to be a contact sport for christ sake 🤨The other noticeable thing yesterday was that players were going down at the slightest hint of contact and usually got a free kick. Both.As soon as the final whistle went I exited the Town End....
Who were arrogant ? The players or the fans ?
Taken from my post yesterday 458#
I thought Southampton Fans and Players where a little disrespectful at the end of the game, showing quite bad manners and outstayed their welcome.
They disrupted and delayed our Players walk of shame (just joking) whilst over indulging as they still have at least 2 games if not 3 to play.
No wonder not many stayed for our awards.
Last Home Game should be our time not many fans are going to wait 20 minutes watching Southampton's excessive celebrations on someone else's ground and wait patiently for our lads to do their walk and awards.
Poor from them and discourteous and downright rude.
I think the walk needs either to be discontinued or done immediately after a game, like after a normal one and with the families ready to come onto the pitch.
And get the stewards to quickly clear the opposition off after maybe a brief acknowledgement to their travelling fans.
End
Chopper Harris, Tommy Smith and then you had dirty Norman bites yer legs Hunter. It was totally different then.Sadly that's the way football has gone.
