Excellent Captaincy. Ex-Burnley player who’s been abused by the away fans all game and has just scored his first goal. Emotions will be heightened and he’ll be pumped up on adrenaline. Last thing he needed to be doing was getting booked for antagonising the crowd or snapping into a challenge
Yeah, great work by Browney....

There seems to be a consensus that in the absence of Potts playing Millar on the right and Brady on the left is a false policy - Millar's attacking potential is reduced without any particular compensatory advantage being gained by slotting Brady in. That set-up may 'look' right but the reality is that we find ourselves with fairly average capabilities down both flanks.

So if we restore Millar to the left in order to maximise his attacking potential then we have to accept that whatever we do on the right flank will be compromise of some sort. Frankly playing Brady on the right would then probably be as good as any - if he cuts back and finds the time and space then he can put in nice angled crosses and maybe unleash a few more thunderbolts like the one yesterday. If he were fit then Holmes might give us some energy and pace there - he can't be faulted for effort but it must be obvious by now that he lacks the guile and creativity to be a central midfielder. Otherwise perhaps we should find out what Seary can do.

Playing McCann there is pointless - he simply hasn't got the pace - while playing him in the centre and pushing Browne wide would just compromise the formula we have hit on in recent weeks. The fundamental principle has to be that of avoiding any further disruption to that formula. So until Potts returns then Brady, Holmes and Seary seem to be the options.
I must admit I’m warming to the idea of ‘inverted’ wing backs as Mr S earlier referred to.
I think Holmes will be back and take Searys place on the bench.
It’s a massive game for us and you never know this switch could just put Coventry on the back foot.

It could. Inverted full backs are all the rage at the moment. Surely Brady's experience trumps Millar's right foot.
Millar has set up and scored goals and along with Mads and Keane made a significant contribution to PNE’s points tally of late .Brady has been a liability for the most part .A bit of form lately being played in his favoured position is fine but for me, it’s give Millar priority on the left for the good of the team and what he brings, rather than Brady. if Lowe wants to play Brady he should not be sacrificing Millar’s ability to win games ( not forgetting how Millar and Mads work so well together down that side)

Brady would be weak at tackling back if he was RWB as he can’t tackle with his right leg

Definitely divided opinions on Brady, his goal was superb, but apart from that I didn’t see much, and sometimes his passing is so wayward he drops us in real trouble.
And for someone with a supposed magic left foot his crosses and set pieces are very ordinary to say the least.
Bearing he was against Brittain who Millar terrorised when he switched wings maybe he had an easy game, unfortunately it was Brittain who got the assist for Smalldicz goal too.....
Never seen the magic left foot..until his goal..

In all fairness the criticism of our pitch is justifiable. Even the groundsman agrees that it has been nearly impossible to keep it up to standard due to all the wet weather etc. and not having a hybrid one or undersoil heating plus not enough arc lights to compensate for lack of sunlight. It does however make me wonder why on earth, even when it as rained for most of the week, they have usually then given it an artificial soaking before start of play with the sprinklers.
yeah just imagine how good the pitch would have been if when the west stand went up back in the day the old misery guts had put his had in his pocket for under soil heating alas leaving it to everyone else to say we cant afford that & redevelopment,

Agree, he’s absolutely no pace to go past anybody, can’t defend, most of his crosses didn’t get past the first man, and if they did ended up in row z, nice goal tho .

Don’t think the lack of under soil heating is the problem. It’s not having the part fibre pitch and not enough of the lighting rigs. Also it seems to have been a very wet winter.

Funny old game billy…obviously goal was outstanding but his general play was the best I’ve seen from him and he was outstanding in the air.
You may be right - what do I know - but that certainly wasn't how I saw his performance.

The fact that we don't have under soil heating means we have to use the frost covers to try to keep the surface play able when freezing weather is forecast.
Having to leave the covers Insitu during cold spells would have a detrimental effect on the grass/ playing surface.
So probably a contributory factor along with not having a part fibre pitch, not enough of the lighting rigs, the very wet weather we've had limiting the amount of work that can be undertaken.
The fact that the ground staff also have to look after Euxton and Springfield's on top of Deepdale means their time and labour is probably too thinly spread. 🤔

Bar the Sheff Wed slip up, our home form has been good since boxing day. Keep the shit pitch.

To be fair, Brady cant tackle on any leg. I agree with Ernest and others. We gain far more than we lose if we keep Miller on the left. Brady can score worldies from the right as he demonstrated and his defending will be no different.

I think after yesterday Ryan Lowe is going to have a bit of a headache picking Fridays team.
Brady was MOM however Millar was far more effective when he moved to the left late in the game.
Could it be worth starting Brady on the right and see how it goes?
He might have been given it by the sponsors but Mads was for me, not saying Brady was poor by any means, but i wouldn't have given him MOM.
Keep Millar where he does the most damage and has the biggest influence on the game.

I’m sure Brady got MOM purely for his goal which was the bit of class in a hard fought encounter.

I am of course expecting a similar goal from him now in all future games now he’s shown us what he can do .

Millar is our biggest attacking threat by a margin, why compromise that? Let's compromise somewhere else! The sheer thought of the danger in the minds of the opposition has defensive aspect to it in itself. If you have a couple of other defensive options available why would you nullify your best attacking threat???
Sorry Ryan Lowe ultra cautious again, it's like ending the first half looking like you are all over them,a goal is imminent, R.L. we come out for the second half sitting back, every man behind the ball! It's infuriating for one thing, we are bloody useless at is the second and it never works is the last 🙈🥴👎

To be fair it was the best goal of the game if not the season. The sheer speed and force of that strike, he flippin meant it too.

Agreed and it made it more frustrating that Brittain was their weak spot defensively who for the last 15/20 minutes Millar tore up when he eventually was put on the left.

I mean I know there’s a lot more too it but surely we could have found a formula to keep Millar on the left all game….
