Confirmed Pol Valentin signed - 3 year deal

Lindsay is nowhere near as bad as made out on here imo. Yes, he’s not as mobile as Gibson who Hecky rightly prefers when fit, but he’s been out for a while and despite Lindsay’s inclusion and the much maligned Storey and Hughes we’ve still managed to remain in the playoff spots. Pure luck ? I don’t think so.
Incidentally Lindsay was sold by Barnsley for £2 mill and Coventry paid Barnsley £4.5 mill for their centre half Kitching. How well are we doing with our limited resources and where can we pick up a free/ cheap replacement for LL?
The club identified and secured Odel Offiah, who is exactly the right calibre of player we should be pursuing. In fact, given Hecky also signed Gibson, he clearly has a good eye for a centre back in budget.

So with that in mind, I'm confident they can identify the right player and have my fingers crossed they get one over the line this January, although very unlikely given budget restraints.

Plus we didn't sign Lindsay for £2m ourselves. Can't remember how much we spent on him but it wasn't a huge fee

One of my best pals was S+C coach at Sheff W 1st team up until a couple years ago when he moved to another champ club and he tells me Valentin is a top guy, works hard and is a decent attacking threat. Also say’s he can play in a 4. My mate knows his stuff so if he’s says he's a good signing he should be decent.

ITK 🫣😂😂

Stoke were so desperate to get Lindsay and his inflated wage that they gave him us for free, even though he had a year left on his deal.

He instantly became one of our higher earners, alarmingly. He's fine if you're playing a back five and defend on the six-yard box, like a Ryan Lowe team would do. But otherwise, he's a liability.

Also scores nowhere near enough goals for someone his size. Since signing permanently, his goal record is one goal every 33 starts.
