Preston Carlisle Rivalry

Preston Carlisle Rivalry

I hope you're not suggesting my father was a wanker.

No he wasn't a wanker. He just wasn't the man who was masquerading as your father all those years.

Try looking at the milkman or perhaps your local drug adict for a better idea.

I know it is (supposedly!)the season of goodwill, and my new years resolution will be to not bang on about crowds with Preston fans but...still 4 days left.😉

I really don't understand why you have EVER come on here banging on about crowds to be honest. You have just had your most successful period for a very long time. Fair play to the Lashers, they did what we couldn't manage to do and won the Play Offs. Face facts though, if you put the 2 clubs in similar positions, we get bigger crowds. Not by hundreds, by thousands.

The idea that you could average well over 10k in League 1 after having to put up with vast cost cutting, poor managers, players not trying and a relegation is laughable. If you had just endured the 2-3 years we all have you would be back down to 5-7k for home games depending on the opponent.

Also the point that a lot of you make on here about your "massive" recent followings to Deepdale is interesting. When a rival club has a period were they are a lot more successful than the other, the rivalry (jealousy) increases and then when you manage to get back on an even playing field the interest in the games is far higher. If we manage to get back up this season (unlikely I know!) then next season we will easily sell out at Gloomfield, Turf Moor and Ewood as the interest in the rivalries will be renewed. Quite frankly a lot couldn't be bothered by you lot when you gained promotion as you were looked upon quite arrogantly as a shitty little insignificant club who would have their 5 minutes and then fuck off back to League 2. How wrong we were.

Obviously your dad wasn't just a wanker - he may have met your mum once - or maybe they used a turkey baster (just to keep things in the festive furrow)

Like I said in the last post, I find you entertaining and provocative - even when you just make shit up to stir up responses............are you sure that you really enjoyed your season in the top flight properly?

Seems to us that you're not sure, given how often you seem to find the need to remind us about the excellent crowds, new stands and subsequent relegation. Well done you!

Theirs was a 'mixed marriage' - Catholic Lasher/C of E Nobbette. The aggrement was that religious allegiance went to Rome and the football to Bloomfield Road.

It's all worked out rather well. 🙂

Apart from the fact you play in orange, of course.

I would hardly describe bringing you into the world as it having "all worked out rather well"

Effectively more of an "EPIC FAIL" is how I'd see it.

Difficult really, knowing who to blame - alchohol will probably have been responsible - it's been helping ugly people have sex for hundreds of years..............😛

Carlisle United is Cumbria's flagship club.
Preston North End is Lancashire's flagship city and club.

Give the Cumbrians credit. They brought about 10 times as many fans to Deepdale as Sheffield United did. For that I give them my respect.
