Relax: it isn't Grezzworth

OP said 'Relax, it's not Grezzworth.

'Relax was the the first song by Frankie goes to Hollywood who were fronted by Holly Johnson.

'Not set in stone' was also a clue. Add 'set' to 'Johnson' and you get St Johnstone (well almost!).

Ergo, it must be Steve Lomas.
 
There seems to have been a great deal of speculation on this thread re clues, and tbh even though I got the PM I couldn`t work out what the `Turn to Stone` reference was.
I think the thread was lead astray by posters other than the OP.

I`m happy to confirm that the PM he sent me was correct, and it was indeed Westley that he was aware was in the frame.
He could not say this directly before the news broke, as it would compromise his source, and his intention on this thread was exactly what he said it was in the opening post...to assure forum members that the Grezza-Unsworth report from Sky was premature.

He did give further info, and more on other potential managers in the frame...or not....(and I will use what he has told me only to help the mods filter incoming rumours).....and fair do`s to him for his genuine efforts to help whilst bound by confidentiality.

Like him, I had promised not to say more than I was able, and I`m sorry if any feel led astray...but I was very careful with my comments, and like him, was doing all I could to help the more astute posters, without breaking promises.

( If any doubt that the OP had indeed named Westley, you may care to check out the youtube vids I posted on the `What I am listening to` thread last night, at about the same time I was commenting on this thread)🙂🙂🙂

As Bardas has confirmed, I was indeed trying to strongly hint that Westley was the man we were after for the manager position. I'm glad some of you had fun trying to work out who it was and the poster who noticed I didn't comment when he named Westley was bang on the money as to why I didn't say anything. I assumed by making it clear who is wasn't, you could work it out from who I didn't comment on.
Anyway, for those of you who acted like dicks, don't worry, I won't be making the same mistake again. In future, I'll stick to commenting on games and other posters threads and keep any info to myself.

Don't be daft mate , take no notice ,any info is good and the place would be shit if everyone kept it to themselves but the amount of utter nonsense posted on here over the last few weeks has been unreal.

Thanks for your sanity yesterday. 75% of the forum mugged themselves off yesterday, don't take it personally there have been too many idiots recently.

Im staying near Stevenage and moving down here soon, and it was common knowledge round here that PNE had asked for Permission, but it was UNWELCOME, which is why I ashumed Sky was right and we had gone with Alexander and Unsworth. The current talk is that Westley has asked to speak to PNE and its been granted reluctantly and a meeting has been arranged with Rids making his way down this way for them discussions. Also rumoured that Westley will only take his Number 2 as PNE want to keep their backroom staff and if that is true, we could have a big sticking point. You don't have to be ITK to get rumours, believe me Boro have there own fair share of ITK that have made wild guesses and are going round claiming they are ITK coz they got lucky. Mwanahabari could well be ITK but with all the talk and rumours about Westley recently only he will know. His mistake was claiming to be ITK and with holding what he knew, if he didn't want to share for whatever reason, claiming to be ITK was the wrong choice. However, I don't understand why his information should of been with held as there was loads on Westley and PNE anyway. anyway done now.
 
It`s not just about avoiding exposing a source.

Mwanahabari was also concerned that it could harm the club`s chances of landing their target. I think it is obvious that things were very delicately poised. I want info as much as anyone else, but the club`s best interests come first.

I don`t blame anyone for getting upset at yet more obscure rumours. Hell, we`ve had enough of them, and all wanted news.
I think the real culprit here is the source for Sky Sports, and the latter for publishing it.
My thoughts are also with Grezza and Unsworth.
Their willingness to take over should things go tits up with a new manager has been of inestimable value..and still may be..to the club, and it`s negotiating position.

I hope in all the furore, their part in this is appreciated.
