Hello Folks - and The Gentry ...
You might have guessed from my name that I’m actually a Brentford fan ... I hope you don’t mind me posting on your site.
I was a salesman working for a company based in Bamber Bridge and used to talk regularly to Chris as one of our support team - mainly about football - not work ! He was a great PNE fan and we shared a lot of very good-natured banter over the years - especially with fond memories of Gentry Day back in 2014 ; it was some party after the game to celebrate our promotion to the Championship ...
Like a lot of Bees fans, we were looking forward to seeing you all again this year ; and having left the company a couple of years ago, I tried to renew contact with Chris to find out if he was coming down ? It turned out that he too had left much more recently and I couldn’t find any other way of making contact ... Then Covid-19 got in the way of everything .... but I got contacted today by another ex-colleague who said Chris had sadly passed on ...
I don’t know if he had family but hope that someone somehow can pass on my condolences as a fellow football fan ....
Wishing you all good health and reasonable success for the remainder of the season ; maybe you’ll all get the chance to see us at Lionel Road one future Gentry day ... but alas we won’t have a pub on each corner any longer !
However, we too remember that life is more important than football ..... RIP Chris

Appreciate your post. Sorry to hear about you’re PNE mate

As you so rightly say, life is far more important than football.
