Everyone at PNE-Online is sad to hear the news that PNE Owner Trevor Hemmings has passed away as confirmed by the football club this evening.

All our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very sad time.

If this is true, he should be remembered as much for what he’s done for various charities as much as anything else. Rainbow House owes a huge amount to him for instance and there was a children’s hospice on the IOM that very recently opened a brand new playground that was opened in large part due to a significant donation from Mr Hemmings.

Football is important to all of us and I’m sure there will be uncertainty around the club for a while but the man has enhanced a great number of disabled people’s, especially children’s, lives when he didn’t have to - and that is more important.

Also funded SAFE in Preston, project supporting victims of sexual violence, according to wiki.

RIP Trevor. All the best to his family at this sad time

I may have disagreed with the way the club was run at times, but Trevor's heart was always in the right place. I didn't realise how much he did for charities, so for that he will be a legend
