I have been asked to post this by his daughter.

Shaky, or Dave to those of us who knew him personally, sadly passed away today. I'm not going into it the details.

he could be a grumpy, argumentative and downright arsey git he was a top bloke and one of my best mates. I'm gutted.

If anyone wants funeral details please PM me and once I know I will pass it on.

So many have asked so I've checked and his family are ok with this being on here.

Funeral is to be held on Friday 20th at St Mary's Catholic Church in Ulverston at 11:45. Cremation after at the Crematoriums in Barrow. His wake is to be held in the Farmers Arms in Ulverston.

Please wear "what the hell you want". Shaky's wife is wearing te outfit he used to take her out for cocktails in on a Sunday aft. I will probably go in my PNE shirt... As this is what reminds me of him.

Anyone wanting more details please let me know. His wife is grateful to everyone.

Cannot believe it. Just heard, it's horrendous news. RIP Shaky, a true great of this forum and will be sorely missed by all PNE fans.

Thats shocking news, RIP shaky,this place won't be the same.
 
A totally different character in 'real-life' than on here.

A top bloke who will be sadly missed.

Rest in Peace Dave.
 
This can't be true. It can't. This puts the whole managerial thing into perspective. When Surf posted before I thought he was on about Sir Tom, which would have been awful for everybody, but this is even more of a shock. I really can't believe this. It's made me really upset. He didn't get enough recognition for his posts in here. Will be sadly missed. RIP.
