RIP Tark

RIP Tark

Tark was an excellent poster and a good friend. Like so many from Preston, my not attending matches had led to us drifting apart a little. I always enjoyed his Christmas email though.

His contribution to the arts in Preston should not be understated. The Tringe and the story nights were excellent.

Last we spoke, he had stopped going to Deepdale as much. I think the loss of his dad had added to the apathy. I can fully appreciate how times change. I am sure many will know him from the Invincibles Lounge though.

Today I am in Bournemouth for a conference. As soon as I knew I was coming I remembered his suggestion to go to the Goat and Tricycle pub when we came to watch Preston. The name appealed. I was going to walk past the pub and send a picture. Sadly, that will not happen.

Probably most of the stories of Tark and I watching PNE together would not make wonderful reading. I was honoured to share some great times over pints with him.

I emailed him a month ago and was going to arrange a catch up. Sadly, I was too slow.

Lesson there... Remember to talk to people when you can. Do not just think, do.

RIP Tark
