For a past it player, his goal against Man Utd wasn't half decent.

Just admit that sometimes, an older player can still produce bloody good value.

Annoyed that we've missed out on him. 😱
 
JD and still you haven't learned the lesson. This is the type of past it player who got us into trouble. At Bolton he will make a few appearances and will occasionally come on for the last 20 minutes. He is a luxury they can afford. We can't.

Incidentally a number of years ago a group of us went to see Peters shortly after he had gained promotion. I argued the case for Devine and a certain 18 year old from Darlington, his name, Robbie Blake.Peters didn't rate either of them. Instead he later on went for "Goals on legs" 33 year old Bennett. The rest is history.

I am ecstatic we didn't sign him Blake the age of 34.
 
Blake still has quality written all over him. This you cannot deny. What he offers is guile, something that we lack. He will do well @ Bolton as a foil for Kevin Davies.

If its any consolation, i was also a fan of Sean Devine around 93 - 95. He was like a lower league Darren Huckerby.
 
Footballers and Managers are so contrary it's unreal.

When Coyle was at Burnley Blake wanted to leave due to lack of matches!

Burnley offered Blake a 1 year deal, and if he played in more than 20 games they would give him a 1 year extension.

Apparently Bolton offered him similar money to Burnley but on a 1 year deal.

Suppose playing in the Prem is better, and the win bonuses might be better!
