Data maybe slightly out but it won't be far out.

Interesting Fact around 12.5 Million Fans watched the Championship this season the Highest since it was renamed. 384553 watching the Crap at Deepdale.
Deepdale Average was 16,720 and was 1141 more than Ewood.

The numbers below are the general defending stats. I thought I'd share all these numbers so you all can come to your own conclusions but I've put my thoughts down as well.

I've tried to look at different sources just to mix it up a bit because it can be debatable what counts as a pass/tackle/etc., and I'm not sure they've always got the correct numbers for things like clean sheets. They all seem to largely agree about which seasons involved more or less defensive actions though, they just disagree on the specific numbers.

What I think these numbers show backs up what most of us are feeling. We've basically been having to do more defending this season than previous seasons and as the previous post shows, we've conceded more goals than previous seasons so I don't think it's been to our benefit to play the way we have. Having higher numbers of tackles/interceptions/etc. isn't necessarily a good thing to have because it can just mean you're busier and having a busier defence just means they've been facing more pressure. The more pressure you face, the more likely you are to concede goals.

The numbers below are some general shooting stats.

Again I think these numbers backs up what most of us know. We've been having fewer shots/creating fewer chances this season but we've been converting them at a higher rate than previous seasons. For me, this is the best strike force we've had in years. They're the reason we're as high up the table as we are because they've been able to convert the few chances they've been getting. To give Lowe some credit, he's got an eye for a striker. There does seem to be a decline in the number of shots we're having each season he's been here though.

This is the last one now but these are some general possession/chance creation based stats.

With a few of these, the most similar season is the 2020-21 season. Considering how crap the football was that season too, it isn't good thing. Some of these stats also highlight how little we get into the opposition's box and create chances. We're more reliant on dribbling under Lowe which makes sense considering the football is largely just counter attacking. Under Neil, we might burst forward but we'd then pass it around until we found an opportunity. This is why Millar has been so valuable this season. Our tactics now really are just sitting back, absorbing pressure until we find an opportunity to pass it forward and score. We aren't hoofing it forward the way we were under McAvoy though.
