When it has come to Shaky I have sometimes taken a back seat from discussions letting the rest air there views first.

Furthermore, before Shakys first posting ban last week, 3 or 4 mods wanted to take stronger action than just issuing 1 point. I was not one them! I said it would be unfair on Shaky under the new infraction system.

Please remember things are not always as they seem and a lot of rubbish gets posted on here.

I would also add that a number of infractions have been issued to other users recently but people don't know about it because they don't come on here bleating about it and simply take the infraction on the chin.

This has therefore created a perception that 'only Shaky is getting infractions' or that he is being 'victimised'. It simply isn't true.

Have you considered just how many different people do report offensive posts on this forum? I think you would be surprised that there is a groundswell of people that don't find the continued abuse of people who disagree with you/the club/the chairman/the players/the manager/the backroom staff unfunny.

What you have to realise Btkw, is that a lot of the time people instigate the abuse towards danny/shaky. They have valid points to make, which the popular crew (or ream team as they are known to danny and shaky) don't like. They then 'have a go' so to speak and the abuse comes back twice as hard.

It's an eye for an eye and as danny said, when someone flings dirt at him, he'll hit back and call them soft cunts when he gets reported.

Btkw, shaky and danny are both good posters on here. The level of discussion is very good when they are involved. This forum would be bloody awful without the confrontation they give.

I do however object to threads being dragged through the dirt and that's where I think the mods could do a good job, before it gets out of hand. The current witch hunt is wrong. Regardless of peoples opinions on shaky (and contrary to what some people here think, I argue ALL the time with shaky..or did before he got banned).

Tend to agree..have had verbal tete-a-tetes with both and I probably disagree with 8 out of 10 posts...that does not mean they are bad posters

HOWEVER...they are entitled to their opinion and I respect it even though I may disagree with it

So as you sow shall you reap 😉

without being a sycophant, regardless of this "groundswell" of people who are beginning to hate Shaky or Danny (sic), look at who's voting for them in the awards. Its not just some perceived "clique" voting. Its just normal regular users.

Danny and Shaky, from what I see, welcome discussion, but they'll call a spade a spade and when someone gets uppity they are willing to hit back.

If he refrained from the foul language it would help.

Message board conversations are often likened to pub conversations. Any loud mouth in any pub using the language Shaky does as a routine, such that the whole pub can hear, would be out on the street very quickly..

I could list at least a dozen people i know who do not post here (and most have stopped reading) because of the foul mouthed aggression they have experienced.

Robust language is all part of football banter & judicious use of fucking expletives to make a point is fair game. Direct insults in such language is not.

I couldn't give a fuck how it makes me look, as Jaymo says the level to which you bum up to Derek and the club makes me feel physically ill too.

I can't believe people can spout so much shite on a forum and then expect not to be ridiculed for it - the very fact that you get on your soap box in the first place invites such abuse, trust me I should know.

It's so bloody pathetic when posters start reporting posts, if you can't fight verbal battles then you shouldn't be on here in the first place.

I don't think I've ever reported a post and I guarantee I've taken more abuse than any fucker on here (bar Woods) purely for telling things as I see them and not toeing the party line.

maybe I can, but think in the interest of even handedness, I try to point out the other perspective? However when people are accused of sharp practice for instance when I know that to be untrue, I argue to the last. I do tend to agree with most of what the board do, I often feel let down by the players and consider that most managers make very strange decisions sometimes. I take defeats very badly, but it is not my style to come on here nad vent my spleen at all and sundry. I do know a fair amount of people involved in football, from insurers, to agents, to scouts and chairmen, that in no way makes me an expert, but I do regularly get a different perspective than the average football supporter, and just try to pass on what I have learnt from these people. If that makes me a sycophant and a c### then so be it. If people don't like what I post they can just put me on ignore, they don't need to abuse me everytime I post.
And BTW I didnt know shaky had been recieving PMs reguarding his posts, if I have anything to say I'm happy to say it on the forum. PM#s feel too personal and can be intimidating to some.

Its not how he believes that the club can do no wrong that pisses me off, its the arrogant, fucking superior way he does it that makes him a prize cunt as far as im concerned.

When he came on this forum he was slating anyone who didnt agree with him, even good honest fans like Joan because they werent agreeing to his agenda, now hes coming on here saying how everyone should be all nice to each other.

you have taken a serious amount of stick, as have I and we both know we set ourselves up for it, the thing is there is a line between banter and just being abusive for the sake of it, after all this forum isn't restricted by age, would you honestly not care if your daughter or grandmother was to be abused in this way, just for posting their opinions?

How many times has he been banned, I actually thought he was back on today then saw he'd had to PM so was evidently banned again. Is he like some part time poster and only working 2 days a week?

Joanpne has taken many words of verbal abuse/sexist abuse from posters off here...and so did I in the early years...it is a football forum though and, though we don't/didn't like it, it seems to come with the territory. Joan has even had lies put about her on this forum, words put in her mouth and sworn at and name called but nothing seemed to have been done about that in the past...particularly where DS was concerned. It is different when it's a member of your family being abused...even my ex once asked me if I knew people personally on here because of the way they spoke to me, he was so angry...but it's a forum for goodness sake and I've heard far worse words at the footie games themselves over the years than what is typed out on here.

I really suggest that some people just click the ignore button and tell their friends not to tell them what's being said. I did that once and the culprit stopped harassing all my posts within a couple of days because I never responded to them. I wasn't interested in what he had to say about me or anything else whatsoever so wouldn't even let my friends tell me what he was saying....yes he carried on having a dig for a couple of days, I believe, but then he moved on to someone else....unfortunately. It is unfortunate that some good threads become just arguments but then that's the time to not bother looking at them again...simple as really. It wouldn't stop me from coming on this forum because there's so much more about it.

The bitching on here between some men is actually far worse than what I have ever read, heard or seen by women. 😱

There has to be a happy medium in all of this. Everyone has seen the Rules etc and had a chance to air their views on them. By posting on here they undertake to accept and abide by them. All anyone, especially the admin/mods, want is for people to stay within the rules and be reasonable when posting without excessive abuse or foul languange. Shown below are justsome of the rules that are constantly being broken and if nothing was done then anarchy would prevail. Both sides of this argument need to give consideration to others and let's find that happy medium so everyone will be a little bit more tolerant.

1. Administrators and Moderators are entrusted with the ability and responsibility of removing objectionable posts. Warnings or infractions may also be sent out to the offending party or parties involved.

2. If violations to these rules are severe, or they continue after warnings/infractions, a user's privileges to this forum may be suspended for any length of time, up to and including a permanent ban..

3. You will, if asked by a Moderator, cease posting any content, and/or links to content, deemed offensive, objectionable, or in poor taste by a Moderator. NOTE: If you really need help in deciding if your intended post is acceptable, PM the text to a Moderator for review.

4. Personal Messages (PM's) between user and moderator are not to be discussed in public. Note that moderators may share moderator related PM content between other moderators.

5. 'Mod Bashing': Constructive criticism is of course welcome and crucial to the development of the website in the right place ('Forum Feedback and Help' and the 'Beta Team' forums), and can go unpunished - especially if you use the report function too.

However, posts/threads that criticise the Moderation/running of the site that are in the wrong place, without using the report function, irrelevant to the thread or unnecesarily offensive will be punished with 1 infraction point

This isn't meant to sound like a lecture but more a plea for some common sense by ALL posters
