I’m gutted , the shuttle bus service from Leyland Tesco to Preston on matchdays has been ended !!

One of the main criteria behind getting my season card was the ease of getting to and from Deepdale using the Tyrers bus service….

It has really buggered me up - yes I can get trains and buses but it’s not the same and it will cost a lot more !!!

I don’t want to drive because I like a pre match pint or two……

Time to get my thinking cap on but the chances are that I won’t go on as many games now especially in winter…..

I agree Ando I think it’s really odd they’ve stopped it after an increase in ST holders without giving it a go for a few weeks.

No doubt the “free” transport for the away fans will continue pre and post match though.

Fear not Ando, PSC contacted the club yesterday. Hopefully there will be positive developments on that front

It seems a bizarre decision…. 12,000 season ticket holders up from about 8,000 last season ..

The shuttle bus is a great idea, catch it locally and drop off at ground, return. Means you can have a few beers without bothering about driving, parking etc ⚽️🥲

Couldn’t understand myself either. Did a member poll to give done evidence to the club too. Hopefully they will act on it. Confident they will.

When they ran one from Chorley I used it with grandson though it wasn’t well used but was cheap and convenient especially when peeing down. I always thought the shuttle bus from Leyland was popular so came as a surprise when I read it was being scrapped.

Exactly Drummer….

It was great value at £5 return…

Either Tyrers and, or the club messed that service up! We at Fishwicks did that service for many years & we used to pick up loads of passengers between Tardy Gate & the Bridge at Penwortham. Even when we closed down I, personally went to Preston Bus & worked out the route & fare structure with John Askwith who was in charge, but they didn't do it in case it antagonised Stagecoach!

The Fishwicks service was good, the bus stop outside the Vic was very popular, I couldn't understand why the new service didn't come through Lostock Hall then carry on to Bamber Bridge, you would have thought the passenger numbers would have sustained the service, so much for saving the planet and climate change

Seems like another short sighted decision.
There was something on the official site saying it was because of reduced numbers in the last season, but I’d say that was probably mostly due to covid worries and frankie ball, it’s been busy when I’ve used it

Let’s have a big push to get more season ticket holders on from all over and then get rid of the shuttle buses, standard north end logic

I managed to get my daughter to go on to a few games when the fishwick bus went through Penwortham and onto the ground, really easy to use, no messing around before or after the game and straight home, since this was stopped, she very rarely goes on anymore as she doesn't want to walk down Meadow Street and Deepdale Road amongst all the other supporters, so another potential fan put off by the lack of resources and forward thinking

That’s me exactly DJ….

It’s after the game when I really appreciate the shuttle service, straight out of the ground and onto the bus and then dropped off back at Leyland were I can get picked up by Mrs Ando or I get a £6 taxi back to Euxton …..

The alternative is that I have got to walk back down Deepdale Road / Meadow Street back to the bus station , it’s not a big deal but it might just put me off in December and January time….
