Burnley boss Owen Coyle is set for a busy summer shaping his Premier League new boys.

Manchester United striker Fraizer Campbell is wanted on a season-long loan having just returned from Tottenham and Manchester City striker Darius Vassell is also a free-transfer target.

Preston defender Sean St Ledger will be the subject of a £2million bid and West Ham defender Jonathan Spector is available for around £700,000.

Coyle has himself been targeted as a replacement for Gordon Strachan at Celtic, but he is set to stay at Turf Moor.
This is the reality now burnley are a premier league club, and theres nothing we can do about it.

Bloody Hell, if it is in the Sunday People it must be true🙄

due to our current financial circumstances i fully expect st ledger to be leaving this summer however it will not be for that amount. He has gotten himself noticed this season for some sterling performances and popped up with the odd goal as well. His value is realistically double the amount mentioned. I for one though will not be too bothered if he does go as we have what i feel is a superb replacement in eddie nolan who plays similar to ssl (dont think chilvers will play in the centre ahead of nolan except if callum is injured.......again). the money will go on the overdraft and no need to bring another centre half in either.....we have youl and nolan for the first team and chilvers and trotman as back up

I agree with all of this - I would be very sad to see him leave though, he's one of the most wholehearted players I've seen wear the shirt. If we had 11 like him we'd have been champions last season by a country mile.

Agreed. I expect him to leave in the next couple of months but not for that amount and not to Burnley. Would he really want to go to a club like Burnley in the Prem if they're only going to be there for a season? Would we sell him to Burnley unless they made a fantastic offer? I doubt it.

Check the writer, Alan Nixon doesn't get much wrong when it comes to Burnley.

Alan Nixon is basically Owen Coyle in the press, what he writes about us is, 9 times out of 10, correct. He broke the news on him coming to Burnley, us signing Andy Cole, Kev MacDonald, Diego Penny and the almost signing of Argentina international Carussca last summer.

We do need some pace at the back so it certainly could have an element of truth about it- although I'm not sure Darius Vassell fits into the type of player Coyle has targetted.
