Confirmed Sodexo Live! Catering contract.

So pies are on the agenda? Who gives a bollocks.

More pressing matter that need answering and questioning. Not wasting 10 minutes talking about meat and potato pies.

Yeah. It's crazy that a fans' group set up to improve fans' experience should be asking about the catering provided for the fans, eh? 😏

Fan’s experiences are drastically improved depending what the product is on the pitch.

‘How was football Dave?’

‘Got twatted 5-0 by Plymouth, but had a belting butter pie, really worth my £280 a season’

I’m always surprised at high-margin bars/catering companies - where they have a a very narrow sales time window - but leave themselves short of staff.

I know it’s a tricky balance but the gross margin on a bottle of pop at £3 or beer at £4 (or whatever), crisps, nuts etc is massive, and they only need to sell maybe an extra dozen bottles to pay an extra staff member for another couple of hours. Yet they’re happy to have people wait for a full ten minutes in many venues - and then no one is really happy.

If people had got served quick, how many people would go back for a second pint? How many look at the queue and walk away. How many know what the queue’s like and don’t bother moving from their seats?!

That's where I am too. It's not exactly cuisine dining, but it's a football stadium FFS. If I do eat at the ground, then all I want is a snack and usually get a pie (butter or meat & potato). I'm not sure whether away fans get the same service and variety, but if they do then it's a lot better than I've ever had at any away ground recently.
Also, I've never had a problem getting served in a reasonable time although I never bother at HT.
Things have definitely dipped since we left the EU though... 😀

Just cos you’re not interested in that doesn’t mean no one else is.

If you had your way they’d be watching an empty pitch whilst they’re eating as you’d get rid of literally all our players.

I used to work for Sodexo, at the time I was there they did some big sporting events like Royal Ascot and the London Olympics so they are used to dealing with large numbers, I still remember the day of the London Opening ceremony when there was a network outage a couple of hours before the gates opened and it was touch and go whether they would even be able to open the food outlets

I think they differ massively, as I've worked in 2 schools (so not big event arenas) that they had contracts with, and the quality is abysmal and pricing embarrassing for schools.

I believe we are extending the deal with Heathcotes and Woodburn at the same time 🙂

This is part of our cost cutting measures - i,e, we can't be arsed finding a new caterer so will keep who we have. We love Woodburn as do all the fans so lifetime contract - sack off DJ and Brady. Whilst we are at it, keep big Josh Onomah too - he can be deployed as the menu sampler and occasional appearance maker 🙂
I wouldn't be averse to this, if Woodburn did the catering and Heathcote got the number 20 shirt.

What a decent catering contract does allow for is vital revenue into the football and whilst for many of us it is not a vital part of our match day, for many it is.

It is all about how the few limited interactions fans have with the club are perceived by suppoters.

There is no question at all that our gash catering and retail offerings in the Ridsdale era have had a detrimental on how many fans perceive the club.

Just like the gaping holes in the stand roofs do.

Whilst whtmat happens on the pitch is the priroty It all adds to a perception that the ownership don't give a toss.

If they have renewed Heathcotes contract (which I would be very shocked to hear) it would only lead to increase that perception that the don't listen or care.

I think I'd rather have the Heathcotes boss playing in midfield and Woodburn serving me a pint of flat Fosters than the other way around.
