My opinion is that you have to separate the two parts here.

1. The Gentry Day thread - a post was responded to rather than moved, indeed the split took a long time but it did eventually happen

2. The pursuit of posters - something people have been rightly punished for.

Different people will approach 1 and 2 differently. I think the danger is that issues with 1 are clouding 2.

You seem to forget why the thread got took off topic in the first place.

One poster, soon joined by another, both Mods, took offence to a reasonable reply and started a period of abuse against that poster. Something I got infracted for just yesterday!

Personal names were used, abuse was used, telling people what was going on in the Mod lounge was used, all to belittle the poster. Now both Mods had the power, which they use as a tool to attack other posters, to split the thread but only did so because other posters were complaining about their actions.

So they split it and then carry on their abuse in off topic!

Remember these two cowardly cunts are Mods, and still are, and yet you saw we can't be 'too critical'?

It would seem to me, and possibly the rest of the forum, you lads have closed ranks and anything is fair game, then so be it.

There was no they, I was the one who argued with WIBG, I was the one who moved it to off topic.

That's one for the Admin to be honest, the rules as we understand are you can't stand in the election if you have an infraction in the last 12 months. As it is there was no rule or precedent for what happens if a Mod was infracted whilst serving so as it stands they serve the remainder of the term. It's a flaw but obviously wasn't envisaged

Look I'm not having a dig at you, I've been a Mod with you in the past and I know you're a honest stand up guy, but for me to receive an infraction just yesterday and then to find this this morning is wrong, and in my opinion both of these 'people' should be taken out of the Mod team.

It's bollocks that they can use their powers to do this to another poster, and we both know it.

What power, other than openly, in the main forum, criticising WIBG have I actually used Mossy?

Have I quote the posts again where Nobber got involved with abuse without quoting WIBG? Your defense of this is truly pathetic cha.

You might think its pathetic but, point the finger at me, its myself who took great offense at what he said and it was me that attacked the guy for it.

How about Nobber posting on closed threads? How about you splinting a thread so you can continue abusing (not criticising) another poster? What about you using that power to tell others that WIBG had made a report?

Again with the bullshit.

Are you honestly saying he never abused WIBG from behind his 'ignore' sanction? If you answer that as yes then you're a bigger cock than I first thought.

Like i say, point the finger at me, I did OPENLY have a go at WIBG for what I considered an offensive post. I prefer to do that, TBH.

This is a very fair set of points and I think it is only fair that I respond.

It is my opinion that what raefil said having been hurt by WIBGs comment is something that happens, and we all have times when we feel that it is right to respond.

I do not condone the use of information from the moderators forum, the posting of information that is known to be private and the late splitting of the thread.

On the issue of what happens I think that there should be a time for reflection and then appropriate punishments be given out accordingly. It is not that long since the original posts and for many reasons many of the moderators have not been online to vote on action (I guess, I do not actually know).

I'll point the finger at the two Mods who abused him, but I will admit you did it openly unlike Nobber.

I`ll leave it at that because, and this is honest also, i have no beef with you whatever, never have had. I dont intend to start now either.

So just to confirm, if I find a post offensive, even if it's not, I'm allowed to openly abuse that poster and get my mates to join in?

Here's me thinking I got an infraction for that very thing...........

If it causes you real pain, as WIBGs did to raefil. It is a rationality versus heat of the moment thing.

I would like to think we would have a heart and not infract based on that.

As I said in the final paragraph there is a lot to discuss around what happened after the first couple of replies but I am not convinced that the place for us moderators to be doing that is out in the open. Although of course the guiding principles should be (it is just cases that become a grey area while they are still fresh)

With this set of Mods, apart from one, I'd say out in the open is where it needs to be, as I'm not sure we trust you to be fair.

You are now hinting one or more Mods has already received an infraction yet they are still Mods, and now you tell us we can't be be 'too critical' when a pair of Mods break every rule in the fucking book.

As I say, maybe having it out on this thread and instill some confidence back into the system that seems corrupt as fuck from where I am sitting, is the best way to go.

It may be.

There is a need for clarification on how infractions for moderators would work, because I certainly do not know.

What I think everyone will agree on is that moderators can not be above the law and must be bound to the same rules as all other posters.

My concern is that this gets argued round and round when actually what is needed is some clarification on the position of moderators and infractions.
