If you want to get more involved with the forum, get a name as you say then fine, but don't try and do it on the back of me.

I've responded to you a dozen times in 4 years, you seem a tad upset at that it would seem, but please don't involve me in your ambitions.

Diversion tactics again Mossy, pretty easy to manipulate and suss you out.

Im not trying to make a name just don't want you trying to drag mine through the mud to satisfy your ego of being the guy on the forum who "sticks it to the posters".

You seem to be furious at me for simply pointing out your flaw. I've responded to you about a dozen times in 4 fucking years, how does that mean we have 'history'?

Just pay your fiver cha, and find some else to stalk.

Pointing out a flaw that you made up, that is my gripe at you.
 
Maybe after the way the moderation and admin team have let this escalate out of control and your lack of intervention on this whole problem knowing it was this serious you should look at youe positions on the forum . Its completely spiraled of control and you've just stood by and watched . Let him without sin cast the first stone ffs no one would have anything but empty hands , plot well and truely lost and a new team should be elected with immediate effect and one that is not afraid to deal with these sort of problems . Ill get slated for this but fuck it my shoulders are broad enough its time for change .

I think that part of the problem is the totting up system used for infractions - while it does try to ensure fairness, the downside is that people aware of the rules can push the boundaries and abuse/wind up other posters without risking a ban. It makes it difficult for the mods to use their personal judgement and awareness of the context to stop arguments before they escalate.

The other option is to administer bans when a majority of mods agree, but that can lead to accusations of favouritism, cliques, and agendas. It's difficult to find the balance on any forum.

Personally, I would look towards zero tolerance on the football section of the forum - maybe with short, ad hoc 'cooling off' bans when arguments spiral out of control. Too many people who just want to read/talk about their club are being driven away by the toxicity, and that destroys the very ethos of this site.

To be honest that is the part of the problem, unless we start banning lots of people from both sides and then we kill the forum anyway. So lose, lose

Indeed, it is a tough call - which is the lesser of the two evils?

The other angle is that, if some of the major protagonists were sent to the naughty step for a while, other people might feel free to post without feeling that they are going to receive abuse or become drawn into tiresome debates. It is annoying when you just want to read match reports or PNE news, but have to wage through pages of vendetta-driven debate.

Many people may only read the forum or may not post very often, but their views are rarely heard. Instead, they will drift away and find other things to do - a death by a thousand cuts.

I am not trying to criticise the mods, because I understand fully how difficult running a forum and balancing the needs of different personalities can be. I don't envy you in the slightest! Something needs to happen, though, because this cannot be allowed to continue. 🙂
