I was reading it all but getting involved is futile on this type of thread. I was responding to a very direct accusation by you, which you have since failed to back up.

Mods are tied by confidentiality so people are lying through their teeth but we can't say anything because it isn't public domain. If we showed people up for who they really are then we'd suddenly be the bad guys.

People have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. The amount of time I've spent debating things in the Mod Forum recently has been vast. I wish I was getting paid overtime for it!

Sometimes the best course of action as a moderator is to do nothing and let people show their true colours to the forum. You guys are a good judge of character and suss people out.

Ignore a problem and it will go away or sort itself out?........ Can you honestly say that a satisfactory conclussion has been reached on this occassion ?.......... It may well be the case for one of the two " sides " but it's hardly a satisfactory conclussion overall is it?....

IE.. Two mods with fractions ( and therefore ineligable to stand again) including one that's (apparantly) not now posting at all and two geezers having a good old guffaw at it all? .. It's all been acheived ( mainly) by sticking to the rules that are in place and levering the fact that " Mods should know better ".

Happy with the result?

From a practical point of view having more mods shares the load (and maybe covers extra timezones) that said it isn't perfect, a lot of decisions(not all) are made on consensus, with the current numbers once you get to 3 or 4 people in agreement then normally it carries, if you have more mods then potentially you have to wait longer to make sure the consensus is as you think. Not a deal breaker but it is a complicating factor, or you have to devolve even more power to the mods to take decisions "on their own", though in the past that has caused issues for the opposite reason i.e. occasionally you get a maverick making decisions that weren't in keeping with the wider view when subsequently discussed as a group

On the latter stuff, sin bins and various other methods of trying to placate/defuse situations have been chucked out there to see if any are technically viable

Whilst you make the odd valid point, the inability to make a quick and decisive decision on matters has been one of the main causes of everything that has unfolded.

I appreciate the fact that having two Mods heavily involved in the unrest doesn't help things, but again, things have been allowed to escalate when they could and should have been nipped in the bud.

I think the Mod team have made some shocking judgement calls and I hope that a change happens sooner rather than later.

I'm guessing I'm one of the 'two geezers' you refer to but you couldn't be further from the truth.

I joined this forum ten years ago and enjoy posting and sharing my views, as I've said before I've made mistakes but apologised and tried to move on. Some will or won't be aware that me and Raefil had a run in a few years back but we resolved that privately and whilst we don't agree on much I felt we had an understanding which meant we wouldn't return the situation we once found ourselves in. However, it was a completely different story with Nobber whereby he continued to attack me, sometimes it was something I wouldn't care about, other times it overstepped the mark, but on pretty much all occasions my concerns would be ignored by the Moderation team.

Contrary to what people think, I'm not someone who enjoys arguing, well not all the time, but yes I do enjoy a wind up as people who know me will testify and I'd like to think I'm exactly the same person and behave the same way on here on here as I do in 'real life'.

I feel I've been honest throughout and when it became obvious that I wasn't going to get any support against the abuse I received I had two options - quit the forum or fight back. Now I know the majority probably wished I had quit but I chose to fight back and stand my ground. I never resorted to foul and abusive posts, I just merely set out to highlight the inconsistencies from the Mod team in an attempt to at least get someone elected who may at least be able to deal with things without any bias given that 40% of the Mod team despised me. As it was, the two Mods in question went into self destruct and did everything for me.

Getting involved is futile ? why stand for election with that attitude your never here anyway , a vote for you in the next election is a wasted vote and together with your can't be arsed attitude i hope the proletariat realise that .

Well people don't know what goes on behind the scenes but you must spend a staggering amount of time yourself debating in there because out here were your presence is really needed your never anywhere to be found , 21 pages of a nasty thread and you wake up like creeping Moses when i arrive , nice work Ronald truly .

The best course of action is to do nothing ? if anyone is showing there true colors its you and your can't be arsed attitude but no doubt you will have the brass neck to stand again in the next election and be carried for another 6 months .

You may well be correct in your appraisal of the shortcomings on here but a word of advice....... Don't " piss on peoples backs and then tell them it's raining " ........

With two infractions, not a chance - of standing that is.

I was a Mod once before and I like to think I did a decent job and told it how it was, others may disagree but I do think I'm honest and tell things how they are. But I think the Mod ship has well and truly sailed for me though.

I feel that some Mods, both past and present, seem more bothered about how they are perceived and how popular they are as opposed to making decisions and going against the grain. That's why I think people like Mossy, Billy, Preston Lad and a few others would make great Mods as they don't care about those sorts of things.

this kind of remark just makes you look completely out of your depth Jake, if you don't want to deal with the shit that this place will throw up then as with Ron you should stand down, but you two won't and that in itself is an issue, 6p see's the sense in rotating and freshening things up, you and Ron wear mod status like some sort of badge of approval/importance imho.
