Hey do you think Ronald is a good mod just asking like , i rarely see him online and he says intervention in rows when you were being violated mentally was a waste of time ?

No I don't. It's futile getting involved in discussions about modding. People don't have the all the facts so they come to different conclusions. We can't divulge stuff so it's pointless trying to justify it. The same people who call for Mods to be open about decision making then moan when their infractions are revealed to the forum. It's a lose lose situation.

I may have missed the start of this thread but I can't read the forum whilst I'm at work (how unreasonable of my employer to expect me to work) and sometimes I have a personal life. 24/7 forum activity is impossible but I at least read most things.

We are all unpaid and have a real life so I don't understand why you would lambast me for doing nothing when I wasn't around to do it? If I shirked a situation I could understand it, however if you were privy to the Mod Forum you'd know this wasn't the case!

If that's what it looks like from the outside then some users are still doing a good job at hood winking others. As per some other comments, as we can't discuss what is said in the mod forum it allows some users to portray images and/or untrue reflections of situations to try and stir up support or Ill sentiment. Sadly other users can't always see through the charade so there is little we can do about that bar breaking rules ourselves.

Likewise as much as some ex-mods like to say how they have dealt with tricky situations in the past with tricky and disruptive users creating a lot of work I think it's fairly unprecedented that it involved moderators as protagonists. On that point specifically some of the "alternative measures" I've asked about and even looked into (as they require changes to the forum software) wouldn't actually have worked as Moderator privileges overrides te sanctions that would have been available to us. That said, it's not my forum either so the choice of what functions there are, is for someone else to decide and build if they so wish

You guys run the forum so its up to you to bring in new rules as you see fit mate , you can't stand still because thats when users acquaint themselves with the rules and begin to bend and manipulate them to there own end .

nail firmly on head, just what do Jimbo, Al and Dai want of this place as they seldom if ever post here, what do the seniors want as like the admins (jk excepted) we hear next to nothing from them, so it's left unfairly to 5 elected members to carry this place, 2 will never ever stand down (self importance issues imho) two have infractions now and can't stand again anytime soon leaving poor old 6p to do what he can in the best traditions of an impartial well grounded mod.

Don't give me any bollocks about it being easier years ago jake, you have not had to deal with the shaky, yoga, nobber, vernons boots, motiv, lanzarote white, nathan, dirk, shanklys girl to name but a few battles, this is a breeze (even this sorry saga) that you are having to manage nearly on your own, fair play but please don't try and big yourself up.

jake this is a walk in the park compared to some of the shit that used to fly about 4/5/6/7 yars ago, mods had a quiet word with with some posters rather than wait for the deluge of reports and if a thread needed to be closed or split it was, 'swere posted and if it was felt that the thread could reopen it was, decent simple mature modding, you must feel like the one with your finger in the dyke!!!!

Honest question. Do you really think no one at any point has had quiet words with everyone involved on numerous occasions? Even from te snippets of conversation here it's obvious everyone has been spoken to, users were advised to ignore each other when that didn't work if they couldn't adjust their behaviour, then. They were warned about te behaviours, then they were infracted. Sometimes people just don't want to switch off(and some people can't switch off no matter what they try). Why not just accept that no one has te full picture on either side, this isn't just a sudden eruption and yes things could have been handled better no doubt.

But it's also blatantly obvious that even now when the peer group is standing around saying "well that wasn't very good, everyone could behave better", some are even now still spoiling for fights. That's the biggest problem

The first 21 pages was not over a working day it was maybe 48 hours so were were you ? if you don't have time or can't be arsed step aside for someone who would see the position as more than a green badge . It was all left for 6p and Jake to deal with and as usual you were invisible , I'm sure they won't say it but they could have done with your support

All four protagonists suspended immediately pending an investigation.......... Investigation completed and then findings and verdict published .....

We have Mods openly telling us they don't have time to read the forum and deal with issues, how then are they going to find time to investigate things?

The Mods have lost complete control and respect and hopefully a new group will be elected in the next round of elections.

Like I said, I'm not bigging it up bit one scenario you never dealt with was modding mods at the same time. As can be seen, the repercussions on that bit are hard to fathom even now

I don't really care now, I actually thought I'd have to find an alternative to those in power, but given Nobber has more infractions than me I don't need to find someone to 'beat him' as he beat himself so to speak.

Same with the other Mods - I think they've done all my hard work for me so who do I want to replace them?

I think 6pence is fair and does a good job, but as long as you as your cohorts disappear from the Mod team I will be happy. Although I've got a fair idea what will happen.
